CoasterFanatic
After pulling the cover off of it and changing the plugs, I fired up my bike last night for the first ride of the year. Just wondering ... anybody else ride?
Jordan Shankman
I used to race in a 125 dirt bike class (I had a Kawasaki KX 125), but I stopped after I crashed and broke my left wrist, collar bone, and a few of my ribs. My bike was also trashed. I just said forget it and stopped riding. I may get a new bike in the future, but I really don't know yet.
CoasterFanatic
^ Sorry to hear about the wreck. It is kind of weird that the 125 is the only dirt bike that i have ever rode. Would love to get trail bike someday. I had a lot of fun on it. Anyone else?
FlyingScooter
I wouldn't mind getting a Honda CBR650. I couldn't afford the insurance for it, but it would be nice.
CoasterFanatic
My insurance is $160/year. Most bike insurance is not as bad as people think. This is my current ride 2000 Suzuki Marauder 800 - custom pipes - re-jetted
FlyingScooter
For most bikes, that is true. for the high performance bikes, premiums are enormous. i work in the industry. Most policies w/hi-pro bikes w/ liability only aren't bad. When you add comp and collision to them, they skyrocket! ex: 2003 honda cbr650f liab only 275.00 a yr averag. add comp and collision: jumps to 3700.00 to 5000.00 a yr... i see it every day and people freak when they hear it... CoasterFanatic
^ It must be because of all them dumb-ass kids riding wheelies down the freeway and doing endos at stop lights. Personally I have never seen a cruiser doing this. // Stop .... Drop .... Shut down, open up shop. Whoa .... Whoa .... yes us rough rider's roll. MonkeyPants
Yes, I ride. Or 'rode,' cause I don't currently have a bike. Used to own a CBR600. I also worked for an ad agency that worked for Kawasaki, so I had the opportunity to ride a variety of bikes in their lineup... BTW Fanatic, nice looking bike you've got. How's it ride? One of the perks of producing photoshoots for Kawasaki.
CoasterFanatic
^ It is a very comfortable ride, but not perfect for my build (6'3"). I hope to buy some forward controls this summer to help. Pros: Smooth (even with chain drive) ride Mucho Power Heavy enough not to get blown around on the highway Cons: Not a whole lot of highend (it really screams on the highway) It will do until I get my dream ride. coasterdude5
I mountain bike. I've done the Tour De' Wolf Trail and road all over Memphis. It's just something I do with my Dad-Nothing big or major.
shepp
I'm on a city-bike-type Seca II, and my bf rides a beefy Suzuki Bandit 1200. In late 2003, I busted my hip in an embarassingly stupid accident (don't ask) and ended up with titanium inside. After the operation, I asked my surgeon two questions: Would I be able to ride a bike again? And would I be able to ride coasters? Seven months later, I was back on my motorcycle, and on Millennium Force. Jeez, it's just like an inspiring Movie of the Week.

gerd.muller
just went trough the forum-index, starting with the last page, and found this topic. while nobody posted here for nearly 4 (!!!) years, i thought it would be nice to restart this topic, because summer will come again soon and nearly every biker here in europe can´t wait to get his baby back on the road. even if i can´t spend so much time with my motorbike as i would like to, i enjoy every second i am able to ride it. i life near the bavarian forest and it just takes me about 1 hour to the nicest routes in the bavarian and austrian alps. my first bike was a honda shadow 600 when i was 18, then i drove a cbr 650 for 8 years, but since last year, i own a ducati monster 696. i´m so happy with this bike, can´t wait for the first sun-rays and dry streets. spaceace12
Though not as many pages, there was another thread about motorcycles. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25093&highlight=brand I have a helmet and a license so far. Getting a bike this spring! My requirements are not a crotch rocket, 1999 or newer and under 3,000 dollars. Can't wait to ride, park my car. Calaway Park
I don't 'bike' but I'm happy to see that TPR isn't full of idiots like my mom's boyfriend who act like you're 'yuppy and stupid' if you drive a honda and the only thing you can ride EVAR KNOWN TO MAN is a Harley if you wan to be a 'cool' biker. You also have to weigh 500 pounds, be a womanizer, have a beard that is disgustingly un-groomed and long, constantly and only wear leather and black and be obsessed with fire, death, skulls and eating if you want to be a 'real biker.' I hate people. They make me angry. Bikers don't piss me off if they're just your average joe that rides a motorcycle. I'm going off on a tangent, I'ma stop now. I have to say though, I think the Hondas and the Suzukis look way cooler than Harleys
