JulieWent
Your advice and reassurance has helped the nervous 10-year-old out a good bit. Thanks. Don't suppose anyone's going to be there June 2 - 4 ish and would ride it with him if it's open? I'd love an excuse to NOT have to ride MF or TTD with him. (I'm his official coaster buddy. My secret is that I'm not really good at the coaster thing. I'm good for one or two biggies, but then I have to start riding with my eyes closed. Yes, my 10-year-old out does me by a real long shot in the coaster-riding department.) The Wimp
woah_killa
^*gasps* I think i'm going like...a day or two after that coastermania thing, do you guys think it will be crowded that tuesday/wednesday?
jamesdillaman
Go ride blue streak instead, more airtime and never a long wait. You'll love it. BURN!!! And on top of that, ride Magnum. Even more airtime, never a long wait and higher than Blue Streak! um... yeah, hence my avatar <----- Magnum is amazing, but not terribly close to millenium's line entrance. I was thinking more in terms of that. About the ejector seat, Insane!!! Definitely a seat 1.3 ride, although I like every seat on the best (non-looping) coaster. -James "just my opinion" Dillaman
BeemerBoy
I'd at least imagine that CP would want it open for Coastermania That's what I thought about TTD the year it opened. After driving up from South Florida to ride it at CoasterMania, I realized it wasn't as big a priority as I expected. Big event....have the much-hyped record setter running.....yeah, not so much. We did get to spend a lovely day looking at it and being lied to by Cedar Point execs though. Ahhh, good times. For the first time CP and Coastermania guys and gals out there, I wish you nothing but the best.
jamesdillaman
^ key words being "the year it opened". By now, the maintenece staff is well aware of MF's workings and I'm sure as soon as they get the part it will be up and running. I have faith in them. V2-dude
C'mon peoples, you're all overreacting. This is an INTAMIN we are talking about here.
jamesdillaman
Wow, is it? Oh yeah, it IS good, and it IS very smooth, and it IS fast, it must be an intamin. Thank god (or whatever deity of your choice) for intamin!
maeryk
Steel force blew it's lift chain the first weekend the park was open. (May 1?). It took something like 3 weeks for them to get a new chain from the manufacturer. It was open again last weekend, but closed an hour or two early on Sunday (this past). Presumably due to the Wild Thing issue, but no-one at the park said why. They just closed it. As of 10 minutes ago, it is running all three trains empty, and has been all day. Presumably testing. (the park is closed right now).
Reon
Its the new Intamin track for Maverick. Their painting MForce red...Isnt it obvious?
dandaman
Regarding the Coastermania thing... any idea on crowds for that weekend? I suppose it's a two-faced thing for me. On one hand, I might meet some people from here or around other boards. On the other hand... LINES!
woah_killa
I'm going like...2 days after coaster mania ...
JamesMC
This reply may be redundant, but if you go to CP's website, they will actually post what rides are down for the day on the homepage. Hope this helps.
jmicha
Just so you all know, Millennium Force will be open today according to the website.
JulieWent
Yeah! Now there will be peace in my household for the next week! Wish me luck in riding this thing and thanks for all your help. Julie
jamesdillaman
All you need to know is ride it in the back seat -James Dillaman
jmicha
Yeah, the airtime in the back seat on the first drop is absolutely amazing.
JulieWent
See, you mistake me for a thrill seeker. I want to know where the EASIEST seat on the coaster is, not the BEST seat, silly people! It's my SON who would want to sit in the back. BTW, we're going to hit Coastermania as long as we'll be there. (DS is an ACE member -- a strange Christmas present this past year.) Any chance any other TPR members are heading to Ohio for it? What do we expect? Besides huge crowds, of course. Julie
CD
Well, according to CP's website MF is up and running again today! YAY! Hopefully it will stay operational for a while.
CD
Well I spoke too soon, One of MF's cars has been stuck on its lift hill for a couple of hours.
Beber
If you look at the Funcoast cam, you can see the train on the lift hill. Poor riders... Edit: I can't see any rider. So, poor train..
Jon Sabo
They're not stuck. They are awaiting their special menu consisting of corn bread and Lentil soup.
Rollerholden
On cedarpoint.com it says MF is closed today...
okinawaboy11
I saw that too. It better be open on or around June 15. Thats the date that I'm taking me yearly Cedar Point trip. I'm going to be really dissapointed if it isn't open.
jamesdillaman
WELL.... the website says no rides are scheduled to be down today, so we'll just have to wait and hope MF makes it's rounds with no problems. I'm taking a CP virgin to the park in a couple weeks, and it would be a shame if he didn't get to ride MF. -James Dillaman
