It's sad that she's gone, but it's also a good thing. If this is what she wanted all along then she is happy again.

It will be interesting to see in the Autopsy how brain damaged she was. For the family's sake I hope it was severe.

Ugh, I wish this whole thing was over!!!

Now there are going to be Wrongful Death Lawsuits, Bills past in state and national legislatures, and all kinds of 'Dateline Specials'...

Yeah, and probably at least 1 made for tv movie.

The fight is now taking a new focus. The husband and Terri's family are now squibbling over what to do with her remains. The parents want her buried, intact, in Florida and the husband wants to cremate her and inter the ashes in his family plot in Pennsylvania.

It's just so sad and ridiculous.

^ She was this women who was in a vegitative state for 15 years. And the battle between the parents and the husband spewed on. The parents wanted to keep her alive but the husband was making the claim that her wife would have wanted the plug pulled on her so she wouldn't have to suffer. I didn't hear about it for the past 15 years until recently when it started surfacing. I'm placing my bet that this will all end in a month. Meaning we won't have to hear it on the news.

And the kicker is that was she really suffering?

She apparently pretty much lost all parts of her brain apart from the brain stem. That means she lost the cortex and all that stuff that tells you pain, feelings, memory, etc.

So in theory, she wouldnt know if she was being starved to death, her brain doesnt know what that is.

Same for any suffering in general.

But the question I pose is this: What good was she doing for anyone in this state? What have her parents wanted with her? What kind of sick mind keeps a "Shell" of a human alive for 15 years?

Any and all facial movement you saw was purely involuntary. She couldnt respond to anything directed at her and most likly wasnt even thinking, just existing.

I think the real irony was this. She got into this state because she was buleimic. Anorexics and Buleimics increase their risks of strokes and heart attacks 10 fold and she suffered such a bad heart attack that her brain was cut off from oxygen so long everything but the brain stem was lost.

The irony comes in when you realize the fight was over her feeding tube. If you went on her previous lifestyle, she wouldnt have wanted it.

But I dont want to sound morbid. Its sad the whole thing took place, but hopefully shes out of her "misery" now.

Schaivo is better off where she's at now than being a 'vegatable' for the rest of her life. Not trying to promote death here but it was a better path for her so she doesn't live a life of misery. She's better off where she's at now, in heaven.

Terri, Johnny Cochran, Jerry Falwell(hopefully), Mitch Hedberg (RIP), and possibly the Pope in a week....Spring Cleaning indeed.

No of all the things said in this topic, i think that that was by far the most morbid...

However, to comment on what real said, some people just cant let go of their loved ones. There is nothing wrong with them, but they probably had hope that someday she would just wake up and be alright. So, with that said, they probably couldnt handle the grief if they let her die when she had the chance to just wake up. Its an attachment thing... Can't blame them. I think its sad that it turned into this huge fight between the people that loved her. Oh well, its life, shit happens and then you die.

I half expect her parents to file a new lawsuit saying that no heartbeat doesn't really mean that she's dead.

I was in Orlando last weekend. I would have liked to have found ONE channel in the hotel that wasn't wall-to-wall Terri Schiavo.

(and the Top 7 Things to Do at Disney channel doesn't count, though I wish someone would give THAT girl a feeding tube. We were counting ribs during the water park segment)

(for the 4 people who know what I'm referring to, thanks)

^When we were in Orlando a few weeks ago, I forced Mary to watch that "Top 7" show, which we decided should be re-named "Top 7 Ways You Want To Stun Gun Krista!" Man, she is annoying!!!

Actually, I believe it's just "Krissa" (no T).

We spent most of it wondering how early before park opening they had to shoot most of it. Otherwise, homegirl would've had to wait 20 minutes just to get within stun gun distance of Goofy.

Ah, Disney propaganda. We left it on overnight. I'd perk up everytime the ToT commercial came on (admit it - it's clever), then groan everytime I head "dad - are we still in the building" for the M:S commercial.
