CoasterCrazy Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I will not pay $499 or $599 for the Ps3!!! I can think of much better ways to spend the money!
CoasterJunkie Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I am not interested in the PS3 now. I think that is WAY to high of a selling price. This is why I am not interested in 360 either. Now the Wii....I am all over that one
crispy Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 OK, now I'm pissed, no price or release date anounced for the WEE that kinda tourqes me off, they better anounce it this week, or i'll just go ahead and plan on a 360
DragonKhan Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 OK, now I'm pissed, no price or release date anounced for the WEE Uh... 4. Quartal 2006 and cheaper than any other system is not enough info for you? Btw. I thought that conference was effin awesome... To put it in simply words: PS3 = porn Wii = sweet love
crispy Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 OK, now I'm pissed, no price or release date anounced for the WEE Uh... 4. Quartal 2006 and cheaper than any other system is not enough info for you? Btw. I thought that conference was effin awesome... To put it in simply words: PS3 = porn Wii = sweet love NO!!!!! They would have had a SLAM DUNK if they would have announced the price. Oh well, its still the best deal by about a million time, followed by the 360 PS3=propraitary rip-off machine What would be damn funny to me is if Blu-Ray fails as a movie medium, and all those people who paid all that extra money for the PS3, will have the basically the modern version of the Beta-Maxx, it didn't work before Sony, it won't work this time either
DragonKhan Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 They would have had a SLAM DUNK if they would have announced the price. Agreed They'll have their reasons though, and as long as I know it'll be below 300 I have no problem... there was a lot missing on the show, but thinking about it, they also showed a lot. I think they simply had not the time to mention and show many details or whatsoever. Not even a single word about Super Paper Mario! Now a REAL Slam Dunk would have been videos of Super Smash Bros!!!
Florida420 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I agree whole heartedly about everything that was said about the PS3. $600.00!! WTF? I guess that's better than $800.00, right? and why are they even releasing, the now dubbed, "tard pack"?? A bunch of idea stealing thieves, that's what they are!! Did you know about the semi-copy-cat controller, Robb?? I think they released pictures of the "batterang" controller to throw Nintendo off their scent. Check this out. Overall, Sony is really throwing Nintendo for a loop with this motion sensor announcement. This way Sony has the better graphics, yet still keeps up with interface ingenuity. However, it will probably be awhile before publishers start making games that support motion control. After all, Dylan Jobe, producer/director of Warhawk, told Game Informer Online that they had an idea that Sony was going toward motion control, but didn't have a dev kit that could utilize it until a "few weeks" ago. My guess is most developers pushed their motion controlled titles toward Wii, and kept traditionally controlled games for PS3. It'll be interesting to see just how many games use this feature come November 17. Few weeks ago huh? obviously a last minute idea, after Nintendo announced theirs. What a bunch of asshats!! But they can't even steal right. In the controller demo, he boasts that the controller does all its "sensing", its "six degrees of freedom, built into it, standard, without any external sensors required". It doesn't require any external sensors, because it doesn't sense where the controller is in 3-D space, it just senses roll, pitch, and yaw (yawn), I had a PC controller five years ago that did that, great big thieving original idea Sony, that's worth 600 bucks. Plus the PS3 controller doesn't even rumble, they say it interferes with the exclusive sensing ability of their controller. Ummmmm, The Wii'mote still rumbles and has a speaker in it! Not only does the Wii'mote, sense where it is in 3-D space, I just found this out: The motion sensors contained within the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk controller add totally new interactions to existing games while opening doors for new genres. Wii makes your senses come alive! WooHoo!!!, the Nunchuk, will have motion sensors too ( unless, I'm misreading it) , which we kinda, thought was gonna happen, but now it's fact. Now I have to get my shield arm ready for Twilight Princess, which BTW is on the official Wii site and Nintendo's E3 page as a upcoming title, for the Wii. http://e3.nintendo.com/ ^ has a link to the Wii page, if you haven't seen any of this yet. LoZTP, not for the Cube??I guess we'll have to wait and see. Also the DS lite comes out next month( only about a buck, thirty ), a new O.G. Mario game for it next week!!! C'mon Nintendo, I can't take all this wonderful news, neither can my wallet. Love P All "at least it wont cost me $600.00" 8)
Slacking Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Florida, Nintendo announced today that they were releasing to versions of LoZTP. 1 version with all the Wii capabilities and the other version without the capabilities for the Gamecube. Both will be available at Wii's launch date.
Florida420 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 AHHHHHHH I see I didn't get that far yet, I just got home a little while ago. I'm trying to play catch up with all the info. Thanks
Slacking Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 AHHHHHHH I see I didn't get that far yet, I just got home a little while ago. I'm trying to play catch up with all the info. Thanks Me too. I had to call my brother during my lunch break so he could give me all the details.
Homer Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Now a REAL Slam Dunk would have been videos of Super Smash Bros!!! That and the announcement of releasing the Play-Yan add-on for the Nintendo DS in America... Darnit, I wanna play movies on my DS! And now to add my input, Nintendo's conference was incredible, I'm so happy right now for... 1. Sonic Wild Fire- Classic Sonic with a twist. 2. Diddy Kong Racing on the DS- Bout damn time, this was one of the few games to beat Mario Kart in this genre. If you hate this game, please grow a brain. 3. Yoshi's Island 2- Guilty pleasure, but the first one was a great game, if not one of the best 2D side scrollers. 4. Red Steel 5. Super Mario Galaxy Those are my most anticipated from Nintendo. As you can see, I stick with mascots.[/b]
DerekRx Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I'm not much of a big gamer anymore, but yeah Sony is pretty craptacular with the PS3. I think I'll go out and get the Wii and like 7 games instead of just getting the PS3.
Slacking Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 They had me at WarioWare. The combination of WarioWare, Monkey Ball (and hopefully Smash Bros.) is a no brainer for me and I guarantee I will get a Wii as soon as I can. I could care less about the PS3.
Blazen_AZN Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Its good to see so many people supporting Wii... I sat trhough about an hour of Wii puns watching the nintendo press conference, and i liked what i saw... Nintendo seems to be shaking off its kiddy image with the new zelda, metroid, project hamer, and Disaster: day of crisis. Ahh, and i just wasnt to prove how crazy they are over at sony... Krazy Ken's at it again. Following the surprise pre-E3 announcement of the PlayStation 3 price, Sony Computer Entertainment head Ken Kutaragi spoke with Japan's IT Media and offered up this beauty: "It's probably too cheap." Oh, WOW.
Angry_Gumball Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I read about that Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and read about the idea of curling barbells, hula hooping, and balancing the 'wii-mote' on your head while squatting. That had me even more interested when I read that, having played (and loved) Wario Ware Twisted. If that game didn't make me look crazy enough twisting/spinning my gameboy around, then this should do the trick. I'm still curious on how Super Smash Bros Wii is going to work.
Blazen_AZN Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 ^ that game looks awsome! people look at me strange enough when im blowing into my DS... but doing the hula? Anyhoo, I just realized, Nintendo is trying VERY had for this launch... They have Metroid, Zelda, and Mario at launch, with Super Smash Brothers following soon behind (i don't think it will be a lunch game afterall). All of their key franchises will be available from the begining. which will probably help alot. Not to mention Resident Evil for the Wii (announced, but not talked about today) *drools at possibilities of the Wiimote and a cahinsaw*
Slacking Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I thought Metroid was announced for 2007, so its not a launch title.
Angry_Gumball Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Doing a random search on Myspace Videos, I came across this. It's some footage of the Wii's game and an idea of how the controller works. LoZ:TP looks quite promising, let alone the fishing.
DragonKhan Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 It's one of the official movies that played at the conference: http://wii.nintendo.com/home.html You know what sucks? Right now I have 7 launch titles I NEED to have. Better start saving money...
Homer Posted May 11, 2006 Author Posted May 11, 2006 Smack my ass and call me Sally... SMASH BROS. BRAWL Although no screen, I think this will catch everybody's eyes... Details are just now rolling in, but we have confirmed the following playable characters: # Pit (Kid Icarus) # Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid) # Zero Suit Samus (Metroid) # Meta-Knight (Kirby) Solid Snake? If he's in the game... Sonic MUST be in it, he's gotta! Nintendo owns E3 this year, period. [EDIT: FOR THOSE LOOKING FORWARD TO SMASH BROS. BRAWL, PREPARE TO FAINT!] Wario is in this too!
Blazen_AZN Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Not suprised that it won't be a launch title as originally announced, but im very suprised to find Solid Snake as a character! About Sonic... The article said Kojima approached Nintendo about using Snake. That doesn't mean Nintendo will be going around trying to pick up new characters... That being said, they are obviously open to third party characters, and Sonic would probably be the most likely option if there are, infact, other non-Nintendo characters. And, WOO! Nintendogs! (i wish they were playable )
Angry_Gumball Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Sweetness! I'll be looking forward to using Wario and his fart attack, as well as the Zero Mission Samus as I used Samus on the previous Super Smash Bros games. I'm now relieved that we will be able to use Gamecube controllers if we prefer playing that way versus using the Wii's control method, which should be quite interesting as well. I'm definitely getting the Wii when it comes out.
Slacking Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Bravo Nintendo, that was brilliant. Not a peep about Smash Bros. during its conference, getting everybody to wonder what happened to it, and then..... BAM! and gets revealed this way I wasn't sure whether or not to believe the news when I first heard it. Sad its not a launch title, but thats cool, at least we know its coming.
rollermonkey Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I've already cast my vote as far as 360 goes. I've had three opportunities to buy it, and I've passed it up all three times. (I think a lot of guys in the Navy agree, there were @48 X360's at the exchange the other day. There were still more than 40 left today.) PS3: I'm NOT happy about the price. I know I'll jump on the one with the smaller hard drive, I don't play online much, but I expect PS3 to have the ginormous library it's predecessors had. (It does already with more backwards compatability.) Wii: I still hate the name, but I will likely get one, even as little as I played my Gamecube. I know there will be stuff I must have.
