Canobie Fan Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Sale of Family Rides From Six Flags Theme ParksTHESE RIDES BELOW MUST BE SOLD BEFORE APRIL 1, 2006 1984 INTAMIN BOBSLED, 7-CARS PARK EX USA US$ 440,000 http://irmpri.com/current.htm Its not really a big deal as the ride is never open anyways.. The park cant run it after like 6pm or when its wet (and it rains almost everyday at TGE...) In 2003 I went 5 times and it was only open 1 day... I got 2 rides In 2004 I went 2 times and it was closed both days In 2005 I went 1 time it tested but then it rained so.. it didnt open. And... the spot will fit SFAWs SLC nice
Jeezus Juice Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Noooo....! I guess I was lucky it was operating the one and only time I went to TGE. Too bad they have to lose such a kick-ass ride for an SLC. Here's to hoping it finds a new home quick! I was reading a Motley Fool article that mentioned that Shapiro and Co were working with a consulting firm to decide the best way to divest assets, which rides/parks to sell, which land parcels to get rid of. Maybe this is the first result to go through. At least the Comet was spared. Good looking out James. -Don
ECZenith Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I'll remember this one for its awesome paint job. I haven't been on it in years , I'm lucky enough to have gotten a few rides on it. I wonder if that's where they'll put the SLC. (if they do in fact build it up at this park)

YoshiFan Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Is there a specific reason they can't run it past 6 pm? Seems like a strange rule.
Canobie Fan Posted March 20, 2006 Author Posted March 20, 2006 Info was from - http://irmpri.com/current.htm And they cant run it at night because it makes so much sound ('rolling thunder' was a good name for it...) People that live around the park bitch'd so the park had to close it when it got dark.
307 Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Oh I was looking forward to going on this on our trip to TGE later this year. And my girlfriend was REAAAAAALLY looking forward to it. Credit down the drain.
RollerNut Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Both of the coaster listed under Six Flags are the old Orpyland USA coasters.
PkiJake Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 The bobsled is Screamin' Delta Demon and the other is Chaos. They are or were saeling Zonga as well. -Jake

Rugged One Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 That stinks. I was looking forward to riding this on our first visit to the Great Escape this summer. Oh well, it sounds like in recent years, you had a pretty iffy chance of riding it anyway.
