I'm going to have to go with the majority and say East wins out.

If you look at SFMM, DLR, US, KBF and Vegas vs. WDW, CP, US, IOA, SFGAdv, BG x 2 and Hershey its pretty clear which side wins the coaster/park battle. BTW, where does Texas fit in all this?

That said, I still can't wait to hit SFMM and DLR this May!

^Trader!!! Why don't you move out east with all your Bush supporting friends you damn bastard.

Whatever Mr. "Demon Drop", How many times did you go to Sandusky last year? Too hard to let go of those old, awkward feelings?

Just because I live in California and went to Cedar Point 5 times last year doesn't mean a thing. It was only 5 times.

Don't hate me. I regret what I said. I love you.

Hmm-no one has mentioned the classic coaster at the PNE or the pair of awesome woodies at Silverwood. But the east coast has had more people for longer, so of course you'd have a greater number of coasters...

Well, yeah, the East Coast (though the last time I looked, Cleveland was pretty much in the Midwest, unless you think of Boise as a West Coast city.) However, having lived in Ohio and near SFGAdv, and frequently visited Florida, I can't say that I regret living in San Francisco - perhaps the most beautiful, cosmopolitan city in the USA - and traveling for my coaster fix.

I'm for East and not just because I live over here....

Parks: Kennywood, Cedar Point, Hershey, Dorney, Geauga Lake, Six Flags Great Adventure, Busch Gardens Williamsburgh, Paramount's King Island ect....

I do like the West:

The Bay Area ownz!!! Yeah our 4 parks aren't the biggest or best, but try to find a more stunning jaw dropping beautiful place than Northern California. And the SoCal coasters are only 5hrs away! As far as quality coasters go though, I'd have to give it to the East, which is nice to visit for the coasters, but you couldn't pay me any amount of money to live in that miserable summer humidity and bone chilling cold winters .

As far as quantity goes, not really a fair assessment since Oregon and Washington don't really have any major parks or even many small parks for that matter. But there's no argument that Cali has far and away the most coasters than anyplace on the planet, not even Ohio or Pennsylvania comes anywhere close:
