  1. Again, like the last post that mentioned them.....what does Universal have to do with this aside from being down the street from one of the parks.
  2. First of all Six Flags does have its share of Intamin's although not at Magic Mountain, just as Cedar Fair has it's share of B&M's, but my main question is, what does this have to do with the topic? Goliath at MM is neither an Intamin or a B&M, and since when did this become a size of rider discussion
  3. While I could care less about the PETA issues that go along with this, am I the only one that is worried about the park... I mean look at some of the motivated employees now at the parks, and look at how clean they keep the parks now. Who is going to make sure that they keep those roaches captive...These are some big suckers they are talking about and I can just see it now. Headline: Houses in Valencia, CA Infested by Non Native Pests: Suspicion Turns to Local Theme Park. I guess that is one way to lower the surrounding property values...maybe Alton Towers can try it so they can get those stupid neighbors off their backs.
  4. No Hotels within walking distance...at least we don't have that problem at SFGadv....oh wait...oops...oh well maybe in 2014
  5. I love how a communication of general information from the administrator of the website, becomes a discussion, suggestion page. Thread Purpose: Tell people not to respond to spam that appears on the board....Sounds simple enough to me.... Thread Reality......15 suggestions on how the admins should run their site. Some of which are repeated more than once by people who post before reading the thread. It is just funny to me how everybody has a better way of doing everything..this thread was meant to inform and WARN all members of the board. That was it's sole purpose. If you know a better way to do things run your own board... I for one am merely a long time lurker who occasionally posts, but I am extremely grateful for the entertaining and informative site which Robb and Elissa with the help of the Mod's have provided for me to check out on a pretty much daily basis. I don't know if I would ever have the patience to deal with the anonymous GP in the way that running a website like this would require.... So I figured in a thread full of headaches that there should be a least a few heartfelt thank yous for the the work that goes into keeping this place going...sooo Thank You
  6. Because it is a highly underrated ride have you ever even been on it. I think you need to look at the posting details of the people you are calling out....ie...SharkTums...site admin...5677 posts. Anyway, I always liked the out of control feeling that you got on the ride, but seem to remember it going down at least for a portion of the day almost every time I went there. What I think is apparent is that it was the only drop tower, freefall, type ride in a huge park. If they are going to get rid of it, that is going to be a pretty obvious whole in their ride line up...At least they aren't getting rid of the Parachutes yet. It may not be the most intense ride, but it is getting to be rather unique in this day and age.
  7. I don't know about the Most Improved, although it has improved and has probably been the most active along with CP and SFMM SF GAdv. at the end of the 80's the company really figured out what type of money maker the place could be, but before that it really only had 3 longer term coasters: Mine Train, Lightning Loops, and Rolling Thunder. Other than that they were on the Six Flags ride rotation program, hello Bobleds, Shockwave, Ultra Twister....Goodbye. Then in 1989 they open GASM and they change their way of dealing with the park. THey dissapoint everyone bye getting rid of Lightning Loops. but look what replaced it. Since then (yes I know Shockwave was in the 90;s). They add Batman, B & R Chiller, Medusa, Kingda Ka, Nitro, Skull Mountain, Medusa, hello Viper bye Viper, and now El Toro. It was a park in bad shape in the early nineties that was improved...fell on some hard times clientele and service wise during the Premier Parks run, but has great potential, a great coaster lineup, a great location, and it has the one thing that all other parks wish they had, but don't....Room for expansion.
  8. Gotta go east all the way.....Why do you ask???? 3 Words....Williams Grove Cyclone.......even if it does close..
  9. Why would you need a B&M, I mean you are already getting a TOGO what more do you want... Mike "Death Machines Rock" Hall
  10. So CP has three coasters over 200 feet and SGAdv only has two....I don't get the skyline reference I guess especially since they are adding the pretty big Intamin woody next door to KK this year. Overall coaster heights at SFAdv are nothing to sneeze at, they have a pretty impressive overall collection, maybe not quite at CP's level but pretty close. SFGAdv doesn't look as impressive because it is so spread out. If SFGAdv keeps going in the direction they are going with the cleaning of the park and the new theming it has the potential to be THE monster regional theme park in the USA, if for no other reason, because of the huge amounts of space that they have to work with. I just wish they would get a few more quality flat rides.
