Luxo Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 ^ Actually, they look eerily similar. I had pork, mashed potatoes, and peas last night.
cfc Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Well, here's my favorite use for leftover steak after a BBQ. . . . this delicious pot of homemade beef-barley soup. Here's a leftover hunk of last Sunday's marinated, BBQued London broil, which was the inspiration for . . .
PhishyBrewer Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Tonight it was a 428 roll from Mikuni. Anyone that lives in Sacto knows about Mikuni... it's da bomb.
ebl Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I went to Taco Bell tonight because I didn't feel like cooking. Finally, I tried that Crunchwrap Supreme. It felt strange eating this giant hexagon, but it was good. Eric
BelizeIt Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 ^^Hey PhishyBrewer, in regards to your earlier post about Chick-Fil-A. You said that you drove 25 miles to eat at this fast food restaurant, was it any good? The reason I ask, is because when they opened their first Orange County location (About a year ago) our local newspaper had an article about the restaurants grand opening. In this article it stated that loyal fans of this chicken chain actually spent the night sleeping on the pavement to be the first customers thru the door! Apparently,(according to the newspaper) their loyal customers can be a bit fanatical about this chicken chain. The OC location is a bit out of my way, is it worth the drive???
PhishyBrewer Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 ^Some of the folks my wife works with, doctors believe it or not, went crazy when it came on the topic a Chik-Fila. They kept on telling us we had to try it. So one lazy Sunday morning day we did. It's was ok. I don't know what the big deal is. It was good quality chicken though, I can tell you that. Not that KFC rubbish. BTW... I don't eat KFC. You want to know why? Click on this link http://www.kfccruelty.com and check out some of the videos.
CoasterJunkie Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Last night I had a nice large piece of steak cooked up nice on the grill...with some Roasted Garlic A1 Steak Sauce topper. Also added some Kraft Sponge Bob Mac&Cheese to go with it!! YUM!!!
BelizeIt Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 ^^ Damn PhishyBrewer, that is some truely awful video footage! Though, I haven't been to KFC in a long time, those PETA videos were offensive! (Though in all fairness, PETA can be considered an Extreme Group) Sadly, countless animals are killed on a daily basis, for human consumption. (Though hopefully not in the way PETA shows) Whether you chose to eat at KFC or an expensive restaurant like P.F. Flemings, you have to hope that the animals are slaughtered in some humane way. Personally, I hope that the majority of KFC chickens meet a less than horrific demise. But, in all honesty who knows???
ParkTrips Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 You said that you drove 25 miles to eat at this fast food restaurant, was it any good? I would drive 25 miles for it. In fact, I do
BelizeIt Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 ^Fair enough Park Trips... You are willing to make the long journey, but why??? It is after all just a fast-food chicken restaurant. What could make it worth such a long journey??? Please explain???
ParkTrips Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Like Wally said, they use some really good chicken. The recipe is delicious, a lot of the taste comes from butter being soaked in which is really good! It's not just a crappy sandwich, its some of the best chicken I've ever tasted! Plus, its not too expensive - the price for a meal pretty much equals that of a McDonalds chichen sandwich meal, but is sooo much better. I usually go, buy a meal, and then take another one home. They reheat well too
BelizeIt Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 ^Well ParkTrips you seem to enjoy your chicken! But, do you also eat at your local KFC??? Mister PhishyBrewer has strong feelings towards KFC... (Which I can understand, given that video footage) Do you eat their as well??? Personally, I am willing to eat at KFC or Chick-Fil-A. I only hope that chickens aren't killed in such an awful way.... (Especially in regards to KFC ) I hope that Peta shows the Extreme Situation rather than the more common one. Whether you agree with it or not, various animals are killed on a daily basis for human consumption. That is life! So be it!
ParkTrips Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I WILL eat KFC, but its pretty crappy. The only thing I really like there are the buffalo chicken sandwiches, partially because they are $1 and partially because the sauce is pretty good and covers up the crappy chicken. I'd imagine the Cathy family (ownership) is good to the chickens - speaking of which, the family holds strong religious beliefs and values, and the resturaunts are not open on Sunday. So, just a tip, if you go, don't go on Sunday 'Course I love my chicken, I'm from Georgia, the nation's leading chicken producer!
PhishyBrewer Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Today was a good day, because we had sushi for lunch. All the photos from today can be found here http://www.brainville.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=306
