Furuvik (Sweden) – new coaster for 2023?

Recommended Posts

The Swedish park Furuvik has teased a new attraction - most likely a coaster – for the 2023 season. The park is owned by Parks and Resorts Scandinavia, famous for turning Kolmården into a true destination park for coaster fans park with the addition of Wildfire a few years ago.

What could it be that they are planning this time?

Great presentation! And it definitely reminded me of how many kinds of coasters are already out there.

Thank you for putting your post together. And I hope you get what you've wished for, too. 🎢

This is the first I'm hearing of this park and it looks like a nice family destination as it doesn't seem to have anything very large.  The most thrilling attraction looks like it would be their Top Scan so I'm not feeling like this new attraction would be something huge.  That being said, though, Kolmarden was a zoo until they built a massive RMC out of nowhere.

Sad to see that their old Schwarzkopf Jet Star 2 coaster (Rocket) already left the park, because I had plans to visit Furuvik this summer, especially for that coaster.
Hopefully we are going to see this classic coaster in another themepark soon and not on the scrapyard.

^^ Like yourself, am totally OMG about the existence of this park.  ::shock::

Which shows you, that all amusement/theme parks have not been discovered or ..... re-discovered again,  yet.

Which is a cool thing to know, right? And thanks to all who find such stuff, for us all to enjoy and know about.

Furuvik has now publicly announced more information about the previously teased attraction. As the name implied  – it is indeed a launch coaster! It will be built by Vekoma and feature two launches with a top speed of 75 km/p.

It looks like a new kind of Vekoma, reminiscent of their old booster bike coasters and with similarities to Intamins launched family coasters.

More details and a first look at the layout and an animated POV can be found here

It's starting to look really good. Sure, it's not Dragon Khan or something like that, but for this park it is absolutely perfect. Single train and two launches through the track for every ride.
