ahecht Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I'm a bit confused by the pictures. Are the Krusty Burger/Chicken Shack/Moe's buildings just facades for a single indoor food court? Are Moe's and Flaming Moe's two different venues?
televisedconfession Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 ^Yes, the buildings are all connected, yet separated via 'rooms'. If you want to sit and eat at Moe's Tavern, you wait for a table or you can just go to the bar. The Flaming Moe is a drink, not a location.
ahecht Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 The Flaming Moe is a drink, not a location. I was referring to the following. Is that different from Moe's?
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 ^ In the episode it's pretty much the same thing. In the episode Moe changes his tavern to "Flaming Moe's" because it's become trendy. Not sure how it's set up in the park, but looks like it's an entirely different location than Moe's tavern so they have somewhere to sell the Flaming Moe.
necoastergp Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 It's just another location to sell specialty drinks like the flaming moe in the food court area to the left of krusty burger I believe. It is separate from the actual moe's building facade and bar.
televisedconfession Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I didn't even see that when I was there. Wow.
Woodie Warrior Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Few questions about Simpsons area: -Is Lards Lad open, and is it a separate building from the fast food? -Do Frying Dutchman and Luigi's have outdoor facades? -When will Kang and Kodos open? -When will Duff Gardens open?
Jew Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) ^All the locations are inside the food court and open. Edited June 6, 2013 by Jew
necoastergp Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Few questions about Simpsons area:-Is Lards Lad open, and is it a separate building from the fast food? -Do Frying Dutchman and Luigi's have outdoor facades? -When will Kang and Kodos open? -When will Duff Gardens open? -No, in the concept art it is across the midway. -No, both in the food court that is open behind the Moe's, Krusty Burger and Cletus facades. -No date or timetable given other than summer, still no sign of it either. -Some time this summer, probably with Kang & Kodos, Lard Lad and the waterfront.
necoastergp Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 ^It will, just when or how soon after June 20th is the question.
Jew Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 The ride is capable of 1900+ pph, so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to handle express.
Woodie Warrior Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Transformers and the Simpsons area look very cool. I can't wait to visit in July.
ZZSTL Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 The entire Simpsons expansion is scheduled to open June 20th, the same day as the Transformers grand opening.
triggernel Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 The base for the spinner is in, just missing the RV's and the center piece.
ZZSTL Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 The base for the spinner is in, just missing the RV's and the center piece. Those have been completed offsite and just have to be brought in and mounted on the ride.
necoastergp Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 ^Where did you here this officially? It seems June 20th is plausible just haven't heard anything.
ZZSTL Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 There has been nothing announced officially. That information comes from reading other theme park sites. Orlando United has some very reliable sources over there.
Jew Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 It would definitely make sense to have both open for the press event...
Woodie Warrior Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Just by looking at the pictures, I like the themeing of the ordering stations, but I wish there would have been a separately themed dining area for each restaurant. But Universal did the best with what they had space-wise and I can't wait to drink a Flaming Moe in July.
televisedconfession Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 ^ I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's really well done. The way they re-did that food court, it's a 1000x better.
necoastergp Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 ^ Totally agree, International Food & Film was like a really bad mall food court.
SharkTums Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 ^ Totally agree, International Food & Film was like a really bad mall food court from the 80's. Fixed!
triggernel Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 ^^Any word on whether they will spin independently of the center axis?
Woodie Warrior Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 ^^Any word on whether they will spin independently of the center axis? On Kang and Kodos I believe it'll be like Dumbo where you can control your height, but you will also be able to spin the car around in the air. I think it will be like a teacup mounted on an arm that you can lower up and down. I could be completely wrong, but that is what I think the ride is based off the concept art.
