Ok, mid-term projects are springing about and this is one of the only mid-terms I'm actually enjoying so far. We have to do a stipple drawing of either a hairless animal or a landscape/scene. So what do I choose? I will keep you guys updated as I carry on with the project, which is approx 3 weeks. Let's see if anyone can guess what coaster it is...

Nope, not RR but it is a B&M Standup. One hint: if you have Dave Bennett's book, Roller Coaster, you'll definitely see it. I did happen to throw the art instructor in through a loop though (No pun intended). She said that the trains would be rather difficult in the photo yet at the end of class she was amazed at how it came out. I did happen to eliminate the lift hill and the first loop due to time and dificulty. I'll keep you posted as I have the class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and possible weekend homework/updates.

EDIT: Here's a not-to-close up of the train (as seen in my avatar). Too close makes it look like a bunch of random dots.

Its gotta be Mantis. Why? Theres a dive loop in the back. The only stand ups with Dive Loops are Mantis, RRv and Chang. However, Chang runs with 7 cars per train and if Im counting right, that one has 8 which would make it mantis.

Plus I believe I have that book. lol.

I have that book too.

I knew it was either Mantis or Riddler' Revenge.

What made me thing that it was Riddlers is the dark section on the from of the train. Riddler's is black, just like it is in your drawing. I know your drawing isn't color or anything so you really couldn't have done it any other way, thats just the first thing i thought.

Ok...now I'm angry. I set my sketch book down a few minutes ago and somehow, some sause was kinda splattered on the table. It is now on my drawing. Any tips on removing spaghetti sause before I have to restart the drawing again?

^^Angry: Have you tried bleach?

My ex-wife, who is one of the best artists I've ever seen did that a few times and bleach always seemed to work for her.

What kind of paper is it on? Newsprint sometimes cleans up.

Well, I did manage to get 98% of the sauce out using my eraserstik thing, (a pencil looking thing with rough sandy rubber instead of lead with a brush on the other end). Maybe I can crop that area out and use a smaller matte board to go around the drawing.

Anyway, expect an update tomorrow around noon (for us californians)

You're extremely talented, how jealous am I!

Great stuff, I'd love to see more of your work if you have other stuff you can post?
