gilly_bob
Well it looks like Williams Grove will be open just for Halloween night this year. Prices look a little steep, but it would be cool to walk around this decrepit amusement park! I may have to check this out since I'm only a few miles down the road from the park. Who's in? haha http://halloweenpark.com/terror-in-the-park/
GCI Wooden
Looks promising! All of the Haunts there have really good stories from what I can see on the website, and walking through an old amusement park sounds amazingly creepy.
DoinItForTheFame
Looks awesome!! I'd gladly go if I were near by!! I think "Terror Behind The Doors" and "Creekside Manor" look the best!!! Hopefully all those who go greatly enjoy it!!
TheCoasterKid211
This is honestly the best idea for any Haunt ever.
SharkTums
This place is scary enough without any haunting or props...this will be terrifying!
amy_mel
This place is scary enough without any haunting or props...this will be terrifying! That's where I was with it! I get creeped out every time I drive by. Just seeing it from the road.
bill_s
If they could re-create the old bathrooms, that's pretty scary, or at least gross. They might be exactly the same still.
Nrthwnd
If I could afford it - and fly over - definitely something I would want to get to and experience. Very few haunt set ups like this one, w/o actors (yes, no?). Once in a lifetime, I'd say.
gilly_bob
The bathrooms were always pretty scary. Believe it or not I was reminded of Williams Grove when I was at the bathroom near the Phoenix during PPP. It wasn't the same but it was a slight reminder. I think I'll probably end up going to this event. It's a few miles down the road and once the trick or treaters leave there should be time to get over there. I'm a little skeptical because I wasn't too impressed with Halloween Park when I went a few years ago, but when else are you able to walk through an abandoned amusement park (legally) and have actors jump out at you! gilly_bob
Well last night I decided to check the park out with my fiance and one of our friends. We all had pretty low expectations for the event, but ended up feeling a sense of value by the end of it. None of us were truly sure what to expect with the event. We didn't know if this was going to be a "haunt" with people jumping out at us, or a leisurely stroll through an abandoned amusement park. It ended up being both. The scaracters there weren't necessarily saying boo, but the were rather trying to portray a story of long gone rides or patrons. For example the devil made an appearance by Dante's Inferno, some period park goers were missing, and some starving children were left in the picnic pavilion. However, the acting was generally lack luster but overall it was still fun. First impressions. We arrived around 9:50 for our 10pm "Gate" time. We were greeted with TRAFFIC CONTROL! This is something the park never had when it was open! We pulled into the speedway lot with more cars than a busy Saturday in the summer for this park. There were a few carnival concession stands set up and in inflatable Halloween decoration in the lot. No signs or anything telling you where to go or what to do. We start to meander to the bridge and are scolded by a woman for not having wristbands. She points us towards the inflatable where we take our online print outs and redeem them for our wristbands. Now we are allowed to walk across the bridge and enter the park. Again once you enter there park there were no signs directing you where to go or what to do. There was a car set up from the old Twister ride (I apologize I failed to get a picture) and no other places to go. We begin to walk towards the old center piece and are stopped by a woman offering us a flashlight and telling us to follow the ropes. So we followed the ropes and here is a report of the experience. The entire experience lasted about 55 minutes and we walked about 6kilometers (Yes my Fiance was playing PokemonGO the entire time). The scare factor was the complete darkness in spots of the park as well as the eerie and decrepit feel you have once you enter. Seeing the buildings and vacant ride stalls was really cool. Take a look and see what remains of the park. We had a great time and we enjoyed how we weren't bombarded with cheap startle scares, but more of a eerie feel. I hope this event comes back, but in a more mature way. I apologize for the poor picture quality I was only equipped with an iPhone in a very DARK environment. If you ever visited the park in the past you will remember this center piece that is still standing. Here is our first look at the park with its new entrance gate. Here you can see the rope that the trail followed with one of the old game pavilions in the background. Here is the first look at the stairs of the water slide. Our second look. Here are the entrances to the slides that have been long removed. I'm sorry for the terrible blur! This is a bride walking to the laser tag arena... err i mean church. One of the houses hidden in the old park grounds. It has seen better days. The gazebo looking structure on the island had a visitor. Looking across the "lake" where the paddle boat once was. I'm not sure why I took a picture of this but here it is. This is one of the old auditoriums. I recall seeing the magic show here years ago. The front is intact, but the rest of the building has crumbled. BINGO Remnants of the games on the old midway. Dante's Inferno in its current state. This was taken where the old mushroom ticket booth was. The mushrooms are nowhere to be found. Our first look at the carousel building. You can see a flame thrower in the middle. A magic show at the remnants of the old magic show building. More old buildings. An old pavilion I don't remember seeing. This is the bridge to the railroad station and where the flea market happens. A missing girl in one of the old picnic pavilions. We are standing where the monster ride used to be. This wall was painted the same color as the tubs. A lovely sign to remind you that somebody lives here and has let the place rot. Some old patrons hanging out. Entering the old pavilions. Not sure what we are cooking here. Our lovely string to guide us through the park. More pavilions. Another shot of the pavilions. One our first looks at the turnaround of the Cyclone. Sorry for the image quality. This was the double down that a few of us can remember surviving. Cyclone peeking through the trees. A look at the carousel building. The old park train station as it looked when the park was open. Peeking into the carousel building. Taking a look around the carousel building. What remains of the building. There were two actors in here that wanted nothing to do with us. Peeking our at the Cyclone. Lovely graffiti in the Carousel building..... Our first look at the station of the Cyclone. Walking up the entrance. This is the longest I've waiting to get into the station. Taking a look at the back of the train. Hand brake still in place. The brake has seen better days. Some old lights. Peeking through the vegetation at the train. Somebody stole the sign, but the duct tape on the lap bars is still there! Closer look at the tape Approaching the lift. More of the lift. Sorry for the quality. I spent a lot of my childhood on this lift hill. Peeking through the structure. I think it could be saved.... There was a color changing led system shining lights on the structure so pictures were fun to grab. Cyclone Cyclone More Cyclone Danger A bad view of the first drop. Peeking over the rope at the first drop. The lift and first turnaround. A look at the back of the Dante's Inferno building. Hey how are ya? This isn't spooky at all. Some of the artwork on the Dante's Inferno building. Red Cyclone. One last look at the Cyclone. Some of the artwork around the arcade and Dante's Inferno Bubbles... He seemed to follow our group around. I think he was on our team... Haaaaaaay! Dante's Inferno has clearly seen better days. One of the old food pavilions. This is the old storage building with a stage. It had a nautical scene painted on the stage for as long as I can remember. The old creepy bathrooms were overgrown, but these are the new ones. Heading out from our experience.
