thrillrider Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 From the parks Facebook page.... Not a good week for amusement/water parks.
coasterbill Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I just want to throw this out there now. If they sue the park because of a lightning strike I'm leaving the country and never coming back. Also, Lakemont is nearby. Please tell me the nearby lightning strike hit Lakemont. Please... It's okay to joke about that because nobody goes to Lakemont and therefore nobody would be injured...
GCI Wooden Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 WTH is going on this week Seriously. What is this, the 4th incident at a park in the past week? I just want to throw this out there now. John Peck Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Someone was hit by lightning at Kings Island and sued many years ago. http://enquirer.com/editions/2003/06/19/loc_pkisuit19.html
Myntiepwny Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 And yet King's Island was running rides this July with lightning visibly striking not that far from the park. Yes, it might have been outside the 10 mile limit, but it was creepy as heck seeing lightning striking while on the Beast, and then in the parking lot seeing more lightning with the drop tower still running. :/
SoCalJasonland Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 But where were the signs! They should have to warn you about stuff like rain and lighting. People are stupid now.

Henry M Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Illuminate confirmed. I think something sinister is going on...
SharkTums Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 There is nothing weird with multiple accidents all happening at parks this week. Do the math, the statistics...this is one of the busiest times of the year for parks, therefore there will be more 'incidents'.
The Geek Mojo Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I've been at Kings Island before when it was lightning. They were still running rides too. Kings Island is hardcore, man. Wished Cedar Point was the same...If the wind just blows gently, then BAM! All rides are shut down immediately!

Also at CP if there are winds because the coasters are so big, they can easily stall.
