DallasAlvey
I heard that the Back to the Future station at USH was haunted. They say that a girl riding the ride had a heart problem and died a few days after riding the ride. Anyway the ride op's would clean up popcorn when they were closing, then they'd come back later and the same popcorn would be in the same spot. I always thought it was fake but you never know. I found it on some website one day.
Fallen Heretic
I agree about the Orbs thing, its just dust. Thats why these haunted photo tour things always has the psychic walking around and picking things up. It disturbs the dust up into the air. I saw a classic nere on TPR once. It was a report of one of those psychic things round a ship. A couple of the photos taken by the psychic apparently showed a large orb which was behind the folks in the photo, changing shape in each photo. Really, it was very clearly a lightbulb. Now, I am open minded about this sort of thing, but I believe that for every genuine article, there are ten thousand fakes. As for the ghost of the little kid haunting X:/No way out, I havent found anything official, but what I did find said a kid fell from it and broke his legs. He didnt die, so couldnt be haunting it, could he? As for the mechanic, I think thats just chinese whispers of the same story. I can find no refrence in any news archive or anything that anyone has been killed on a ride at Thorpe. Any ghost story that gives you conditions, like you have to say someones name three times or something, just reeks of urban ledgend. I would like to hear more of these though, whether they are true or not, they are still fascinating.
sfotkid
Not sure if this has been said yet, but SFOT supposable has a ghost of a young girl who died in a creek on property. She haunts the yellow food building near the intersection of the entrance of Titan and the road torwads Texas Giant. She likes to fool with the security guards trying to open the door. I wouldn't be walking in the park at night though..
Vffreak07
I heard that someone died in the river by Valleyfair before the park was there, and that they haunt back where the old campground used to be. I doubt it's true though...

theGrayZone
I found this topic while posting something on a "notable ride accidents" thread. It's a little early in the current, mid-summer season to get into autumn subjects... but what the hey... October will be here soon enough. I mentioned the SFGAdv, Haunted Castle fire and a related documentary that people fascinated with this thread may enjoy... especially during Halloween season... for some campy, retro-ish, creepy amusement industry history. The documentary links may be found HERE. The same guy who created the documentary also wrote an e-book, in .pdf format, titled, "Doorway to Hell: The mysteries and Controversies behind the Haunted Castle Fire." I found that a couple years ago and have it on file. He put a lot of work into the writing and it's an interesting companion piece to the documentary! You should find a short review of the book HERE. (edit: the end of the review mentions something about "The fire was started by a lighter that one of the workers was using"... that is in contradiction to what the book says... the book mentions an "at risk" youth seen playing with a lighter earlier in the day at a games booth running from the haunted mansion minutes before the fire erupted... speculatively igniting foam mats at the end of one hallway in an act of careless vandalism-turned-arson.) I couldn't find it online anywhere at this time, but while trying to track down the book (to post a link for you all) I came across this (on-topic) link: Ghost at Six Flags GAdv ... an account of a spirit manifestation supposedly linked to a worker who fell to his death from Rolling Thunder in 1981. (p.S. - If you are interested in a copy of the book, PM or email me... I'll forward it on until doing so becomes cumbersome!)
