Gutterflower Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Following this forum post I wrote on possible parks in Vietnam the rides could be going to I have been keeping an eye on each of them and its paid off today. Turns out The Vekoma Mine Train previously known as Iron Horse/Eagles: Life In The Fast Lane has turned up at the under construction Asia Park in Da Nang. There is still plenty of construction on going and It’s possible if not extremely likely that some of the other rides will turn up soon including the B&M built Time Machine/Led Zeppelin. gisco Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Nice find. I think once the rides are installed word will get out they are from HRP. If not from the park, from the ride manufacturers.
BDG Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) The brown track belongs to the mine train alright, but those supports are of the "Shake, Rattle 'n' RollerCoaster" kiddie. See attachment... although in your photo, you're looking at the other side of the ride. So that's two Hard Rock coasters in Vietnam. Edited January 2, 2015 by BDG
Gutterflower Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 Aha good spot. Hadn't realised that was the roller skater. So what's missing? The B&M, Premier and The suspended thing?
DarienLaker Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Isn't Time Machine going to Vietnam? I don't know if Time Machine, Roundabout, and/or that Roller Soaker coaster are going to Vietnam or not.
Gutterflower Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 I believe Time Machine is heading to Vietnam and I'd guess this same park. The other 2 I have no idea. I know Irvine Ondrey Engineering worked on sorting out the electrics on Roundabout but no idea if it was sold to the same place.
Gutterflower Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Hey all Just dug up some concept art for the new Asia Park in Vietnam. We already know the 4 coasters going there but it shows off what the general theme and feel around the rides might be.
cfc Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Since the Vietnamese park has the old dark ride track and cars, I wonder what it new theme will be?
Gutterflower Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 More construction from Vietnam. It may not be people's favorite coaster but considering the best open ride in the country at the moment is probably a Vekoma junior boomerang this is a big step up.

South Carolina's, well, loss (for lack of a better term) is Vietnam's gain.

How did you get the information about the fate of these rides? Just good old graft and hard work. I wrote an article before we knew where they were going http://www.vhcoasters.com/?p=2864 and researched every possible park. Then just kept visiting Vietnamese news sites and local forums till something turned up on the rides. Looks like the old mine train is almost complete at Asian Park in Da Nang now.
robbalvey Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I would love to know what kind of a deal they got on all of those rides!
cfc Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I'd like to know why the decided to paint the mine-train track white.
DarienLaker Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 ^Maybe they put white primer on it, then maybe they'll repaint to another color.

Gutterflower Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Sorry for the slow reply. Have been on Holiday this week. Can you give examples websites you used? Edit: I may have found them already. Well google to start then it's just a process of trawling results. The usual suspects tend to be the best For example there is a Facebook Page called Where In Da Nang which sometimes covers the Da Nang park. And Twitter is handy. The trick is to put the time in searching in other languages than English. China for example has weibo which is their version of twitter. Great for breaking news and i often use posts there to find out what to search google for. Sites like Skyscrapercity and Gaoloumi are also good. SCC for places like Turkey and Iraq while Gaoloumi is more asian stuff. Anyway here are some more shots of the rides. Looks like the Asian Park ones are pretty much done now. No sign of the Premier though.
JonnyRCT3 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 This coaster has a rather bland layout, literally something out of RCT3. But it is quite photogenic. Any word if this will retain the on-board audio system?
Gutterflower Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Looks what we have here Round About is starting to go up at Asian Park in Da Nang (A different park to the B&M but owned by the same company) Source
cfc Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 It's not a amazing ride, but it is fun and unique. Nice to see it being rebuilt.
Gutterflower Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 The old Maximum RPM! Coaster from Hard Rock Park is up and being repainted at Asian Park There's a very big tower going up at Ocean Park, Vietnam close to the old Led Zeppelin coaster. I have NO idea what it is for though.
larrygator Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) I moved all the info about Asia Park into a new thread Edited April 16, 2016 by larrygator
Gutterflower Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Not much news on when stage 2 opens but here's a look at the new colour for the old Maximum RPM! coaster. Source
