PTC is known for making some of the best wooden roller coasters, however with GCI a few years ago, and now RMC dominating the wooden marketmarket, PTC has not been up to much. Their last coaster was Black Diamond at Knoebels. Does anyone know what PTC is doing right know?

It seems most of the servicing/refurb PTC does takes place in the off-season. Check out their website and you can see what projects they were working on. They usually include pics so that's pretty cool.

PTC could literally do nothing more than provide service for existing trains and probably get by until Tom Rebbie is dead. And it looks increasingly like that's what will happen, since most of the major existing wood coaster manufacturers have designed their own trains to go on their rides. No one to blame but themselves.

Much like how Arrow survived for so long, the parts/refurbishment business will keep them around as long as they want to be in business.

Didn't they try a newer style train awhile back? Or at least market one? I think I remember seeing one at IAAPA?

IIRC by the time they did that, Timberliners were already well underway in design and possibly shown on the floor.

It's a shame that they stopped making coasters, because that will likely be the death of them. Although their trains are so widely used, there are other options now that require less maintenance and ride more comfortable.
