thrillrider
This past 4th of July holiday, we decided to swing by sfga for a few hours to check out the parks newest scream machine Goliath. We were only in the park for a few hours on this day, so I was not able to get everything on my camera due to time. Most of the pictures are from Goliath, and there are a few shots of other park attractions we were able to sqweeze in during our short visit. I really enjoy this park, and it's in my top 20 parks that I have been to. Here are the pictures....... I love the entrance of this park. The park is clean, but I think that Disney, Holiday world, and Dollywood have you beat in this dept. Yep....We were there durring the 4th of July holiday. On our way to the new coaster, we were able to see the remains of raging cagin(sp) This used to be where the coaster sat. I'm glad they brought this ride back. This is what we came for! I love that they were handing these out in line to prevent line jumping. Train full of guests about to go over the lift hill. This was my favorate element of the ride. Boomerang turn around. Weird structure Here are a few geek shots.... Tight fit for the train. Front of the train. Station shot. Lift hill shot Overall a great ride, but in opinion it was a little short. This is the temp line they had set up. Here is the gift shop they make you exit thru at the ride exit. Here are a few of the signes. Coke was in the park letting you make your own coke can. Time to hit some of the other coasters like the classic demon. The demon is the parks arrow corkscrew I wish that other parks would install these. Not only would drink bottle sales improve, but it also makes for happy guests. Time for the bull. Again, they were handing these out. The back of the pass. Fun coaster. but too many trims. Not sure why, but I like this shot. We ended up eating lunch in the sports bar. Food was not too bad. It was getting quite hot out, so we decided to check out one of the parks shows. The show was o-k Looks like they need to do some painting on batman. Random street show. Viper is based on coney islands cyclone coaster. This is the only park that I have ever seen that has a remote dispatch panel outside of the control booths. X Flight is the parks wing coaster. Super fast! I don't recall the storage shed ever open before..... I love the detail in this area of the park. The park has a night time parade. I say. I say, I say...that's all for now. willthegolfer
Nice TR! Always good to see a report of my home park! Even with its inconsistent operations I always have a good time there. I think those boarding passes were a good idea but I only had them on Goliath this year. Also, when I was last there I think single riders were walking up the exit of Superman. Can anyone confirm this? Lastly, am I the only one who thinks a S&S 4-D free spin would fit perfectly in RC's old spot?
GwaziBSRider1
Very nice, TR! I really need to visit this park soon.

thrillrider
Thank you. I really like this park regardless of what people say about it. I don't understand why people knock this park. During my several visits to this park over the past 10 years(around 20 visists) I have never had anything out of the ordinary happen to us that does not happen at other theme parks. Goliath was a lot of fun, I wish it was just a big longer of a ride though.
VF15
^ Great trip report. That pretty much sums up how I feel about SFGAm. Not a perfect park by any means, but still a great one with some amazing rides.
thrillrider
A few more random pictures..... They still have the cop car in Batmans line. Uggg...I hate the hassle of the metal detectors. Not sure what was going on over here. Anybody know what the carousel horse is supposed to mean? They had an artist drawing chalk art on the blacktop. Geauga Dog
Thank you for the TR and the photos. What a great way to warm up on this frigid day. I think the boarding pass is a great idea for the bigger attractions. I've never had any issues in any of my visits to SFGAm and is still my favorite in the chain. thrillrider
Me either. I have been to most of the six flags parks, and have yet to run across the mass problems some people say are an issue at the chain's parks.
coasterbill
I really enjoyed this report (I had a chance to check it out over the weekend but for whatever reason never responded). Great pictures!

Philrad71
How were the crowds? CP is usually dead leading up to the 4th holiday so I was curious to know how they were at SFGA around or during a holiday.
