Wait, you're saying it's a bad move to drastically improve a mediocre coaster? I see nothing wrong with a potential world class coaster replacing a coaster that many didn't find that spectacular. I could also be reading it wrong and you see Joker as an upgrade.

Knoebel's going from Jet Star to Whirlwind. I never got to ride Jet Star, but I can't imagine it being as torturous as Whirlwind was. Thankfully they more than made up for that going from Whirlwind --> Flying Turns.

 

Hershey getting rid of Canyon River Rapids to drop a waterpark right in the middle of Midway America is up there for me as well.

At this point you're just listing weird things that parks (generally relating to Darien Lake) have done that confuse or annoy you. In what way is improperly relocating a coaster from a closing park a "ride downgrade"?

Kennywood replacing the Old Mill with Garfields Nightmare was a bad downgrade.

Kennywood removing Pitt Fall and replacing it with Black Widow, this could be debatable on weather or not Black Widow is a bad replacement. But I sure miss the Pitt Fall drop tower!
