niiicolaaah Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 (edited) After the failed Cedar Point attempt, I (Nicole) thought I would set my sights a little closer to home, and try to arrange a Canada's Wonderland extravaganza. I acted as Tour Coordinator, and me and three of my college buddies took a 3-day voyage to what I consider my home park. I have been to Canada's Wonderland every year since I was three, except for the latter part of high school and college. So anyways, the four from Grand Island, Cheektowaga/Lancaster/Depew, Clarence, and Rochester set out with our Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Twist-Os, and copious amounts of candy... Read about it here! http://www.angelfire.com/crazy4/ncoaster/pcw.html Edited October 3, 2005 by niiicolaaah
CoasterFanatic Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Great TR. I always forget how pretty the grass is at PCW.
DerekRx Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Nice photos and TR. I keep forgetting about this park, which actually has a lot of coasters and some awesome flat rides. Maybe sometime soon I'll finally make it up to Canadia. While its probably no Cedar Point, it looks like a really nice park, especially for Paramount.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Alright... two things that made me say WTF? And this comment: The Bat. The Vekoma Boomerang of Awesomeness. Great TR! Thanks for sharing.
coaster1 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Man I really wish I rode stuff when I went there in Summer of 93 and 94 .. stupid fears.
niiicolaaah Posted October 3, 2005 Author Posted October 3, 2005 Alright... two things that made me say WTF? And this comment: The Bat. The Vekoma Boomerang of Awesomeness. Great TR! Thanks for sharing. The bread was so soft! I don't really remember WHY they were cradling it like a baby though. And the bat IS the Vekoma Boomerang of Awesomeness! I swear to God it's because they run ARROW trains instead of Vekoma ones! The ride is very smooth and crazy. Unlike the one at, say, SFDL, with the newer Vekoma trains. That ride is VERY PAINFUL and crazy!
robbalvey Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 ^ I think you're right. Knott's Boomerang with the Arrow trains REALLY SUCKS!!! But all those nice, newer ones we rode in Europe were much better! Of course NOTHING beats the "Abnormal Boomerang" from Walibi Rhone-Alpes! --Robb "Nice loaf of bread you got there!" Alvey
YoshiFan Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Man I really wish I rode stuff when I went there in Summer of 93 and 94 .. stupid fears. Same with me, I was there in 1996 and all I went on was Scooby's Ghoster Coaster. I remember looking at the Bat and Vortex and thinking, "You have to be crazy to go on a ride like that." Now I would ride both without a problem.
niiicolaaah Posted October 3, 2005 Author Posted October 3, 2005 Those Canadians sure take pride in their grass. ...lawns.

Alvey The bat goes back up the first spike a little too! but it stops in the station then,, it doesn't go up towards the boomerang.
Nrthwnd Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Thanks for the TR. And once again, my angst kicks in for being on the other side of the country and NOT being able to get to PCW as often as I'd like to. One of these months, maybe next spring, I'll do a TR on the (literal) 'wasteland' that is called my (gag) 'home park,' Playland. And it's Coaster.
dandaman Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Those Canadians sure take pride in their grass. ...lawns. You're damn right we do! Wait... lawns? The last time I've been to PCW was in '99, and all I rode was the Fly and Scooby's Ghoster Coaster. I definetely wasn't a coaster junkie back then, though, so I regret it now... I'd rather drive 2.5 hours for Cedar Point than 4 hours for PCW, anyway. As long as we're on the topic of Canadian coasters: http://www.rcdb.com/id193.htm Get a credit, and go shopping!
CoasterFanatic Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 And the bat IS the Vekoma Boomerang of Awesomeness! I swear to God it's because they run ARROW trains instead of Vekoma ones! This is actually the first Boomerang I ever saw (didn't ride out of fear) in 1987. It still amazes me to this day how many people line up for this thing. Waits for this ride and the SLC are easily over 1 hour in the summer.
