Philrad71 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 4 hours and 10 minutes for a coaster wait would have had me running for the exit too...that's insane. It's like SFMM and SFA had sex and their child was a demon spawn that was quickly put up for adoption. Japan was the unfortunate parent to take this monster in and give it a home where it has been a tarnish to this great land ever since.
Nrthwnd Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 ^ That's why they put it at the base of Mt.Fuji, a currently dormant volcano. "Just in case..."
downunder Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Friends in Japan just went there and they got super lucky. It rained in the morning so it kept the crowds away in the afternoon - "tiny lines" was the description. Absolute miracle. Edit: just got this morning's update - only 1 coaster open, huge crowds, won't sell fastpasses for closed coasters.
technfxrick Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 So I have been at the Tokyo Disney resort the last 2 days and this is how a park should run. Yes the lines are 2-4 hours but the all move. This park has been phenomonal
downunder Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 ^^Apparently there's a massive queue just to get into the place today. They're just watching it from their Hotel window in horror now, hoping Godzilla turnns up.
rctneil Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Fuji-Q and Tokyo Disney are more than opposites of each other in terms of friendliness, theming, rides/attractions and efficiency. It is very hard to believe that these two places are in the same country and not a million miles apart from one another. I saw a blog post a while back from someone who visited Fuji-Q and DisneySea and she 100% said she would go back to Fuji-Q over DisneySea. MADNESS!
technfxrick Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 I could spend a week at DisneySea, not sure i even want to go back for the missing credits at Fuji-Q
urzishra Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I saw a blog post a while back from someone who visited Fuji-Q and DisneySea and she 100% said she would go back to Fuji-Q over DisneySea. MADNESS! Pretty sure I saw the same post a few days ago. About how everything is so much better at Fuji-Q. I'm not saying I wouldn't try to go to Fuji-Q for the experience of it, but I certainly have very low expectations if I ever go there.
cfc Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 ^ I don't think Fuji-Q does the "ERT" thing; in fact, Japanese parks in general don't. TPR has managed to secure ERT for filming sessions in Japanese in the park (for example, last year on Steel Dragon for the Travel Channel).
GayCoasterGuy Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 ^That kinda stinks. Seems like the only way to enjoy this park would be during an ERT-laden event. Maybe Fuji-Q is the Japanese version of SFMM on a bad day

CoasterFEV Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 ^That kinda stinks. Seems like the only way to enjoy this park would be during an ERT-laden event. ...or visit the park on a TPR trip I've been fortunate to be on the last two trips that TPR has made to Fuji-Q and, amazingly enough, they both turned out to be fantastic days with everyone on the tour(s) getting all the available credits at the park - plus having plenty of time to spare! No ERTS - just Robb & Elissa surrendering massive amounts of time (and money) for the group, plus good timing, and I assume some sort of animal sacrifice
Philrad71 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 ^^Or it was posted by someone named Suzi-Q from Fuji-Q!
Kyle Coleman Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I saw a blog post a while back from someone who visited Fuji-Q and DisneySea and she 100% said she would go back to Fuji-Q over DisneySea. MADNESS Pretty sure this is enough to legally commit someone.

I wonder why the park wouldn't do group specific ERTs before or after the park opened/closed. Glad you managed to have a good time. That's the trip I need to be on!
