FreeFaller
Hey TPR! Since riding coasters often means traveling by airplane, I would love to know how you find out great airfare deals! I often search on kayak.com and compare their deals to the one of the airlines! Furthermore I found a great travel agency here in my region which is called ABC Travel! Since I live right next to Ramstein where the biggest American Air Base in Europe is located, this travel agency offers really good deals! Watch out for their website, maybe it helps you to find a good deal the next time you travel! Now it's your turn! Post about your airfare researches! Tea
As an alternative to paying for flights, put all your regular spending through an Airmiles earning credit card and use the miles you earn.
simon8899
I try not to spread my data at too many portals or booking services so I mostly book directly with the airline. Lately I found that Germanwings/Eurowings (for European flights) and British Airways (for long-haul flights) have quite good prices booking from Germany. For inside-US flights I mostly book Delta. For flights of 4+ hours I prefer Economy Premium - were available - or Business as I will not squeeze my 1,95 meter frame into an Economy seat for prolonged periods of time. Booking either 6+ months in advance or less than 3 days in advance will have great deals at most airlines.
FreeFaller
Yeah I love collecting air miles with delta! Allows me to get better seats!
simon8899
As I often book different airlines - the above mentions are true for the last 1-2 years I do not collect miles. Next to that I guess I have a light form of fear of flying cause I do not really enjoy it and often try to do one way without planes. So far I have made three transatlantic crossings on Queen Mary 2 and try to use trains were ever possible and a travel destination is within one day of travel. Not that I totally avoid flying but only use if no other means of transport is feasible. Resulting of that after a long-haul flight I normally need a day off before hitting the parks as I absolutely cannot sleep or relax on planes. I mostly get myself a book to keep my mind occupied. edh
Lately I have not paid for any airfare with any trips. I use websites like http://thepointsguy.com and http://www.flyertalk.com for advice on how to get tons of miles and not spend much money. Mainly through credit card sign ups. I currently have 180k delta miles, 5 tickets anywhere southwest/airtran flies and 30k starwood points. If anyone is interested more feel free to PM me. YoshiFan
It's not specifically for airfare but I usually see some low prices posted on slickdeals.net, people occasionally post some really low fares or offers out there.
