Erik Johnson Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) After taking over a year off from Walt Disney World, I finally made it back. Yes, I figured it was time to go ahead and purchase an AP pass since there is a lot of new stuff to check out. I also did purchase a new camera for this year (Sony DSC-WX50 Cybershot ($116)) so I wanted to check it out. Not much of a introduction I know, but I know you want to get to the photos as fast as possible. Yes, it has been a long while. Taking a photo of your parking row is probably the most important photo you can take during your visit. This view always brings a smile to my face. Prices #1 Prices #2 I really wanted to check out the new version of Test Track. For me, everything about this attraction has been greatly enhanced. I decided to do the stand-by line first. You can check out all of these futuristic car models in the first waiting area. A different view. This is one of several videos in the queue. Notice the car model on the bottom. The image changes every few seconds. This is one of the games you can play in the queue. Your design is rated by all of these categories. This is what we will be doing in a moment. We will be doing it in this special room. I feel like I am in Tron Land. Let us begin! How do you like it? Good-Bye Design Room! All my car information is stored on this card. More stuff to look at in queue #2. Loading area! You pass your card over this terminal to load all the information of your car before you ride. I really think the new car designs are awesome. Is the little monitor read-out in the car the same as the old version? Seriously, this new version is really awesome! I simply love this. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Rules of the ride. This way to cool games. You can check out your car rankings on these displays. Mine is that green one at the bottom. You can have a little video of your car emailed to you. This is a map of the actual ride track. You can watch in real time other cars travelling on the track. The fast pass looks the same. Yeah, I noticed it too. In the fast line queue, you do not do a full car design. But you are able to choose from a few selected pre-designs. The main design room....through glass. I seriously loved the new updates to the ride. Any of you going to Mexico next month? Any one else like the smell of burning Rome? Skipping on over to the Magic Kingdom.... My favorite mountain. I rode the Peoplemover first...Looks like Space Mountain is down. Yay...Lights on photos. Peoplemover POV. You do not see this every day. It really is quite bright in here. It really is a super jumble of track. I really love this ride. Space Mountain loading area. It too looks like Tron Land. Rocket #3 is my rocket! Random train photo! This is all new to me. Dumbo #1 A simple close up. Future coaster credit! I wonder what the theme will be. They are moving right along. Should be good. There was a serious line for this, maybe next time. Has anyone eaten here yet? Yummy drinks can be found in here. I love mangoes, so I loved this. Gaston is my favorite Disney villian. The Little Mermaid queue is quite impressive. It certainly is more impressive than the one in California. Amazing work. One looks different than the others. Hello there... The big sceen with Ariel and some guy who does not know how to spell. Smooch! I guess it was too scary to have a big room for the final battle. This is the end of Ursula. More smooching. Bye! I see coaster track! On the other end of Fantasyland I noticed the old skyway station has finally been replaced. Themed disappointment. I think it reopens this weekend. Ooooo....the original version is back! Pretty. Not Pretty! I bet you know the words! Booga Booga! The lady birds. Getting dark! Wow.....After seeing this after the Tiki Room I thought I was five again. Yay!!!! My favorite Mine Train. It almost looks like an oil painting. Everything is running great after the super referb from last year. The best time to ride it is at night. Night shot! I am quite happy how well the camera handles low light. I really love the Haunted Mansion. The "bonus" queue is pretty neat. Classic! A bit more modern. Awesome. Stretch room: Part 1 Stretch Room: Part 2 Back into Fantasyland. Want some nighttime photos? New critters! At night.... Belle's Castle....At Night! The line is still too long....At Night! Gaston......wait for it....At Night! It is all blue! ....At Night Classic photo....At Night! It has been years since I have ridden these. What does the sign say? Ok....I see it now. Dumbo! The light package is really impressive. Speaking of impressive! And we leave you with one last photo. the ghost Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Nice shots and nice to see you back! I have always enjoyed your trip reports!
simon8899 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 When I was there a few weeks ago at Test Track it mostly failed to upload your car design from the card at the boarding station. Â Did it work when you were there?
Erik Johnson Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 It did. Everything seems to be working now.
cfc Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) Your car design looked very "Mad Maxish" with a touch of Big Daddy Roth. Edited March 1, 2013 by cfc

Erik Johnson Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) Any relation to Rat Pfink A Boo Boo? Â http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5aRr2td6nYk Edited March 1, 2013 by Erik Johnson
cfc Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) Any relation to Rat Pfink A Boo Boo? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5aRr2td6nYk  No, but I think that Disney should consider buying that classic property.   I'm sure they could get the whole Ray Dennis Steckler catalog dirt cheap. STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Nice photos, Erik! The night shots turned out great.
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Awesome photos Eric! Are you using a new camera? Those night pictures look fantastic. Weird question here. Does anyone know how the Fastlane program actually calculates what times to assign to each ticket? Is it completely numerical? Like are the first 1-100 people given 9am-10am, 101-200 9:30-10:30, etc. Or does it actually consider how many people have gone through the main gate in order to give out times evenly? Just a thought that went through my mind.
Erik Johnson Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Yep, Sony DSC-WX50 Cybershot. It is a great little inexpensive camera. I got it for $116 at the time. Looks like it is even cheaper now! Â http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006K554DW/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1362347552&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
