coasterguy618 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Ok well i just got the new record book and I first checked out the theme park section. I found a typo. It's really not a big deal but ijust wanted to point it out to people. It says that KK reaches a maximum hieght of 418 ft. Which would make KK the 2nd tallest roller coaster in the world. KK is actally 456 ft tall. The drop is 418 ft. I think they got a little mixed up. If you want to check it out for yourself, It is in the Guiness Book of World Records, in both sections Colossal Constructions and Theme Parks.
zburns999 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 ^I bet no random gp will ever question that. Most people around where I live don't even know TTD exists.
SLUSHIE Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Um..., no thats correct. I think they are talking about drop height, not structual height. Top thrill dragsters drop is only 400ft. *edit* After all, if they were talking about structural height, wouldn't High Roller have the record?
coasterguy618 Posted September 4, 2005 Author Posted September 4, 2005 well in the book its says 418 is its maximum hieght, i literally just checked a second ago. But i really do not know the truth. Plus The Colossal Constructions Sections is a popout of all the tallest structures in the world. KK is in it and it says its maximum hieght is 418. They could be talking about the drop though.
NitroJoeC Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Does it have KK listed as the fastest coaster at 128mph? Just curious, because when I was at Cedar Point earlier in the year, they STILL had a billboard on the launch building saying how Dragster was the fastest coaster in the world (they took out the word tallest apparently since I know it was there last year). A reason I heard was "because it wasn't listed in the Guniess Book". So now if it IS, that might mean no more billboard. JC
arrowfanman Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Yea...well, until they Orient Express at SFMM closed a few months ago, the announcer was still saying that S:TE was the tallest and fastest roller coaster. Althought, thats SFMM....lol.
benzo41190 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 It says that KK reaches a maximum hieght of 418 ft At first i thought you were talking about hieght, you should have spelled it as height.

WTF LOL
DenDen Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 1-Parks have been known to inflate their stats. The most famous one from the past that I can think of right now was Buffalo Bill's. 2-GBOWW is weird when it comes to the rules it makes about coasters, and they change the categories all the time. Quite misleading in itself. Not to mention, it's not "the bible", so to speak. 3-If we were counting structure, Slushie is right, High Roller is the king of that category. I dunno, too many rules ruin the fun for me, I try not to pay attention... :?
RctInfinity Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Isn't TTD 420 feet tall? And yes, KK's height is 456 feet.
coasterlover420 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 (they took out the word tallest apparently since I know it was there last year). No, the sign on the launch building never said tallest.
