nissanskyline1235 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Hey ppl, I know this has probably been asked a countless number of times..But what should I expect at CP in the beginning of june, crowdwise? Are they bad? If they are should I plan to visit a different time, and if so, when? --Cody W
CoasterFanatic Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 http://www.whentoride.com - That should help. June is the busiest month apart from July and August.
robbalvey Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 We've had really good luck visiting end of May, beginning of June. Personally, I would highly reccomend it. Not sure if some of the other CP fans could tell you better, but last time we were there at the end of May there wasn't a line for anything but Dragster. I'm going to move this thread into the main board to get a better response for you. --Robb
CoasterFanatic Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 beginning of june Didn't see that the first time. That makes a lot of difference. For the ultimate CP experience, I HIGHLY recommend - Weekdays during the first two weeks of operation - Weekdays the week before Labor Day A friend of mine just got back from a trip there mid-week (Week before Labor Day) and he said that the lot only had 3 rows full!
PhishyBrewer Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Early June, during the week... great time to go. Lite crowds and everything is up and running. Muffleheads might be bad though. This guy is a mufflehead. And him and a gillion billion of them invade Cedar Point every year during late May early June. They don't bit. They just make sitting in the front of a coaster unpleasent. And messy!
PhishyBrewer Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Oh... and these guys come in late June for a couple of days. The Mayfly. They pop when you step on them.
Scaparri Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 ^You have it down! Of course, aren't you from there? Yeah, I would personally suggest sometime in May, especially through the week. Crowds are a joke at that time. Most of the rides are walk-ons. Early June is usually not to bad either as a lot of the others have reported. If you have to come on a weekend though, come on Sunday. The crowds are usually comparably to a normal week day. Overall, just avoid late June, July, and Saturdays.
PhishyBrewer Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 ^You have it down! Of course, aren't you from there? Born and raised in Cleveland... oh, and I worked 4+ years at Cedar Point. I need to get out of California, and move back to O-hi-o!
pianojohn Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 My friends went last year on the Friday before Labor Day (a year ago today!) and they basically walked on everything. They also sent me pics from their camera phone of the empty que lines for Magnum, MF, and Raptor. I hate them. John "who worked at the Point for 5 years but it was pre-MF and Dragster"
nissanskyline1235 Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 thanks guys, thats alot of help. The thing that confused me was that on whentoride, the crowds don't look that bad, but over there at the point online, it says crowds are heavy, so iunno. Scary-ass lookin bugs lol, all we have out here are little scorpions and black widows So, yeah we'll probably be leaving monday, june 12th, and we'll be back that friday, so nothing but weekdays at the park, yay. Grrr, its the week after school it out, so that like 9 months from now. Oh, and lol, I'm also planning on going parasailing, although my mom hates the idea of it, she said yes, so, another yay! --Cody W
PhishyBrewer Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 ^Lake Erie will still be pretty damn cold at the end of May to do any parasailing. Just and FYI
nissanskyline1235 Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 ^you've got a point there lol, never thought about that!
USRoadTripper Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 I went on July 10th this year, a Sunday. The crowds were very reasonable...the only things that had lines were Millenium Force, TTD and Raptor. Everything else was less than a 15 minute wait, with a lot of things being only a few trains worth of wait. The next day (Monday) was considerably more crowded with significant lines at every ride. Obviously I can't speak for June, but it looks like Sundays are a great day to try and hit the Point. -Julie (the following Sunday, PKI was empty too!)
