PKI Jizzman Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Merry Christmas TPR! I just got my tonsils out yesterday, so I had some downtime to get this photo tr going! I got the opportunity to make it up to Great America for the TPR Midwest Bash back in August! I had a great time thanks to Jamesdillaman and his wife for taking me up to the park; not to mention it was fantastic to see all of my TPR friends and make tons of new ones! Please post if I talked to you so I can connect TPR names to faces! KYLE! I know you're watching from Great America, say hi sometime! Thanks for making everything happen man! And thanks to Robb and Elissa for the event! As always, enjoy the photos and reviews. Zach Ah, SF Chicago! So happy to be here. Many TPR members sleep in their own vans. Oooh, sorry guys...the green light is for TPR members only! Time to head into the park for ERT on Superman! Sorry Vekoma, you've been beat on this one. Speaking of B&M.. Raging Bull. Wow things I've heard about this ride were WRONG! cute Ofcourse a very nice looking SF park! Bourbon Street, I wonder what attractions are here? Ah, drunk Divv my favorite! (photo from Hanno) I hadn't been on a Superman since '08...very refreshing ride! Speaking of dissapointments. I'd like to say sorry for not believing the bad hype about this ride! It was retarted! LOL! Great effort...but why the still cutouts on a wild mouse? The restraint really dug into my leg around the corners, too. Superman Ultimate...country house? Ah...the first B&M invert. (Right?) This Batman was AWESOME! Weeee! Crawfish-roll Mmmm The naked train going through the zero-g! What a fantastic ride. I loved how it went over the water. Gyyaahhhhh intensity! Yellow! I am really bummed I didn't get to check out the holding break. That would have been cool Cha-CHING! I love log flumes, and this one was so much fun! Dan-friendly! View heading back to the picnic area Sploosh! Who got wet? The off season sucks, by the way Fun for everyone! Ask me about my weiner! After lunch and a Q&A, it was time for the backstage tour...which was about 2 hours. SFGAm Management kicked ass! Look out for that pretzel! Super smooth riding. Take note Vekoma! Yummy. Clouds starting to roll in, too. I would do naughty things to sit where those kids are sitting! LOL! Going up! Helllooooo More to come! Edited January 4, 2011 by PKI Jizzman
mcjaco Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I think my car has been in more PTR's this year, then I have.
Mr. Starr Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Haha awesome report! I'm pretty sure I was racing you on the back seat of American Eagle for a ride, but you beat us
PKI Jizzman Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 Accidentally skipped a few photos...please COMMENT! And if you see yourself or remember meeting me...post your name so I remember who you are! Enjoy, -Zach 1.bmp Heading over for our behind the scenes tour! Dan was showing EVERYONE his weiner this day. And he has a creepy fascination with me, I don't know why. I think he loves jizz. Big Mike LOVES something is this picture...do you know what it/who it is? Jo and her hoard of ...well, I'm not even going to go there! Get your ice cold Superman Ride of Steel! Just 4.75. Jakizle has a nice ass. Weeee pretzel loop! And some nice curves. I was one of the stragglers We took a tour though the junkyard, then came up behind Iron Wolf 12.bmp I see TPR members! Skipping the backstage tour to ride Iron Wolf? Makes about as much sense as Prince Desmond! I honestly didn't have that bad of a ride on Iron Wolf. It was actually pretty fun! Where else do you get this close to the coasters? GO ON A TPR TRIP NOW! Mmm...B&M curves. Hahahahaha After Iron Wolf, we walked around to American Eagle! Demon was a nice little surprise. It was very smooth, and a great little ride! A nice classic. I had never been on an Arrow with those HUGE handle bars. Why do they have those? So weird. 20.bmp Their drop tower was awesome. I love second gens. 21.bmp Heading over to go backstage by AE 22.bmp Still had yet to hit Raging Bull...looking great in the new paint! 23.bmp You can only get this close to American Eagle with TPR! Looks like I should throw AE into the "Ride that need a make over in 2011" thread 24.bmp Words can not describe the people in this group. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing! More good thing 25.bmp Here comes the train! 26.bmp You're doing it wrong!!!! 27.bmp There ya go 28.bmp The ride looked very impressive standing right next to it. 29.bmp You can really see the age in this picture 30.bmp Big woodie! 31.bmp Prefab or classic wooden coaster...Intamin knows how to make awesome rides! 32.bmp It was pretty damn hot outside. 33.bmp Hey Hanno! 34.bmp Freshen up this ride, Six Flags! 35.bmp Hmm...looks similar to the new texas giant! 36.bmp And more photos to come soon!
Jojo19799 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Great pics! I wish I could make a comment about the picture of me and my hoard, but I got nothing!
PKI Jizzman Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Great pics! I wish I could make a comment about the picture of me and my hoard, but I got nothing! Yeah, I have a few things I could say. Ha..
Jojo19799 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Haha awesome report! I'm pretty sure I was racing you on the back seat of American Eagle for a ride, but you beat us I don't remember riding Eagle that day, and I was with you a good majority of the day. Our takeover of Jersey Mike's was pretty epic. Went there the other day and thought of us, well really you guys filling out the comment cards and putting random numbers down! Zach, I shouldn't call them my hoard. They're really my minions. I'm training them to do my bidding for when I take over the world. So far, it's not going so well.
tycoonrebel7188 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Great photos Zach! I loved Great America and can't wait to get back this summer after my trip to Texas.

Our takeover of Jersey Mike's was pretty epic. Went there the other day and thought of us, well really you guys filling out the comment cards and putting random numbers down! Really? Me and Gavin rode in the back...I think. Oh, and Jersey Mike's was pretty fun Zach, I shouldn't call them my hoard. They're really my minions. I'm training them to do my bidding for when I take over the world. So far, it's not going so well. I have...no comment...
deathbydinn Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Haha awesome report! I'm pretty sure I was racing you on the back seat of American Eagle for a ride, but you beat us I don't remember riding Eagle that day, and I was with you a good majority of the day. We rode Eagle after Griffin and I went in the Wiggles World fountains. Our takeover of Jersey Mike's was pretty epic. Went there the other day and thought of us, well really you guys filling out the comment cards and putting random numbers down! Hehe...wonder if Nathans gotten any strange calls! On topic - Thanks for sharing these, this was my first TPR event and I had an absolutely amazing time so it's always great to see pictures of it. Anxious to hear you're review of Bull, I know you said they things you heard about it were wrong, but I don't really know what you heard. (But it's pretty easy to geuss they weren't good things. )

Anxious to hear you're review of Bull, I know you said they things you heard about it were wrong, but I don't really know what you heard. (But it's pretty easy to geuss they weren't good things. ) Yeah, a lot of people during ERT we're talking about how Bull was a lot better than their expectations, which, even I found surprising!
PKI Jizzman Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 I've been on Raging Bull, Diamondback, and Goliath (SFOG). Bull was hauling ass after it rained, and it was absolutely incredible during ERT. It was fun in the front...but AWESOME in the back seat. It was very different, and that's what made it good, I think. It can totally see how B&M picked apart this ride and used some elements that worked really well and pretty much made other B&M hypers out of them. Diamondback's helix and drop into the watersplash is almost identical to Bull's turn and drop after the hill after the midcourse. I loved the first drop and tunnel. Sometimes the MCBR grabbed hard..sometimes hardly none at all. And when it was hardly none at all it gave great airtime. I'm so pissed at those stupid trims. IF those trims weren't there...man, it would go from an AWESOME ride to an OMFG awesome ride, in my opinion. I loved Bull, even though the trims totally killed the nice big airtime hill. It had a great start, not too shabby middle, and great finish speeding low to the ground. Not as powerful as Goliath, not as airtime packed as Diamondback (or Goliath), but I still think they all bring something different to the table that makes them all equal. Bull isn't about airtime, it's about crazy twists, and different elements, which I think B&M made to see how smoothly the coaster ran through each element. Whichever element they liked best, I think they picked out and used to create another design. Very similar elements between Diamondback and Bull.
PKI Jizzman Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Another batch of photos. Happy New Year! 37.bmp Nerves go up as you go up! 38.bmp This drop tower was pretty damn tall! I forget how big it really was. 39.bmp Ka-chunk 40.bmp Ah, the perfect feeling. 41.bmp Mmm..let's head over to Bull! 42.bmp Lots of fun on this smooth, unique coaster! 43.bmp Another look back to American Eagle Weee! Lots of airtime, very fast too. Crazy ride! Bull's crew is AWESOME! Very efficient. I'm a fan of the old and new trains. They're the same level of comfyness! I liked the different colored restraints too. This coaster is cool in pretty much every way. Crraaazzzyyy fun! This backstage tour is awesome! Coming out of the second turn around Coming off that MCBR at night in the back row when it doesn't grab....WOW! 52.bmp Front row was fun...but the back seat is 10x better. I can see why this is called a "hyper twister" Mmm...nice and twisty! Hey Andrew, remember that weird airtime coming down from the slow diving turn after the trimmed hill? It was weird but neat! Stairway to B&M heaven! Artsy fartsy What a great day for great coasters with great friends! Pretty! I think a Single Rider Line should be a staple for every B&M hyper I LOVE how the seats are so high most people have their legs dangling. Just adds to the experience when you're 200ft in the air Kristen doing a Fresnoian rap! You gonna spit somethin' back? Wow...down near the finale, looking up at everything. VERY cool! More to come soon!
Geauga Dog Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Great shots, Jizzman. Thanks so much for posting. Great America is my favorite of the Six Flags parks and I've enjoyed viewing the park through your lens. That last shot of Raging Bull's supports and track is awesome. I have to agree with your assessment with Bull. It's my favorite steel coaster because it is different. I've only been on four of the Beemer hypers - Apollo's Chariot, Nitro, Raging Bull, and Diamondback. The out and back hypers seem to deliver the same type of ride, i.e. what one would normally expect from a ride with that style of layout although D-back does add a few twists to the mix. Bull's more compact and twisty layout is a nice change from the others, even with the trim on the airtime hill, which doesn't really bother me. I highly agree with the back seat - it's the only place to ride it. Only Diamondback has given me the same airtime sensation going down the first drop as Raging Bull does from that seat.

Yeah Diamondback and Bull are verrryyy similar. I was surprised Bull had some strong airtime moments! And it was very, very smooth. The trim didn't ruin the ride for me, or bother me...but it bothered me because of what it could be. It COULD have added an insane, huge airtime hill, and another airtime spot dropping down from the swooping turn, a powerful turnaround before the midcourse probably slowed it down a lot more. Not sure how the ride would have been changed from there on. Easily one of the best, if not THE best ERT session ever! Shockwave ERT at SFOT is hard to beat! Another update later tonight! Please comment! And hoping to see some names of people I met! -Zach
kumba830 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Great pictures man! I always love hearing people say good things about my home park, because it makes me feel like living where I do isn't so bad after all coaster wise. The SFGAm Day was awesome. I had a great time with all of the TPR members I was with and the ERT was absolutely amazing! [Jon... Not sure about those calls, But I always get people who call the "wrong number". ]
PKI Jizzman Posted January 2, 2011 Author Posted January 2, 2011 More photos! Everyone having an awesome time on Raging Bull! Nice little floater airtime in the back seat coming down the trimhill Pretty colors! Cheesy face! Great airtime moment off the MCBR! The front seat does offer some great views and some nice moments of air. But the back steals the show! This little turning swoop and dive is almost IDENTICAL to Diamondback's helix and drop into the watersplash. Very interesting. 73.bmp And both moments on both coasters offer GREAT airtime in the backseat! To the windowwwww....TO THE WALL! Oh wow...why aren't there more pre drops? But again...Diamondback and Raging bull both have a similar level intensity of airtime on the first drop! My, what a colorful arm you have! Now THAT is an awesome first drop! Can't you tell? Mmm can't forget about Viper either...running JUST as good as Bull. After the rain..WOW. 79.bmp Viper SPEEDS around this turn and then EJECTS you over that little hill...then throws you out of your seat over and over again! GO RIDE THIS RIDE!!! 80.bmp Aiiirrrrrtime! Underrated ride right here! This ride hauls ass! Pretty! Although there was a HELLUVA storm later. My first ride we saw HUGE lightning bolts going up the hill. Great laterals, great airtime, smooth, awesome ride! Mmm...more bull! I'm pretty sure I got double digit rides in. One of the best first drops out there! One more batch of photos to come!
Jojo19799 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Hmmm...nope didn't see myself in any other photos. Then again, you really couldn't see me in the one because someone was blocking my head. Anyway, again great photos. I love Viper and it's one of my favorites in the park. Next time you're in town, try getting one of the first rides of the day. It's really a whole different ride in the morning! I have a confession though that involves RB. I'm not a fan of it. It's a good ride, but it's just "meh" to me. I had more fun on Apollo's Chariot and Intimidator. Now that I said this, I'm expecting an angry mob at my doorstep sometime tonight.
traincrossin Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Great pictures Zach! You may not remember me, but I was the guy from Dayton and you said Xavier was better. Sorry about that, didn't know we were rival schools. Anyways, i'm glad you enjoyed your day at Six Flags Great America! Back seat on Raging Bull has some of the best airtime ever and the ride is very twisty! I also love the double down on Viper. Great America has some under-rated coasters! Zach, I shouldn't call them my hoard. They're really my minions. I'm training them to do my bidding for when I take over the world. So far, it's not going so well. I'd like to think that I can control myself despite Jo's powerful influence and separate myself from the so called "hoard".
PKI Jizzman Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Last batch. It was nice meeting everyone, and thanks Robb and Elissa for an awesome event! Mmm..sexyness 88.bmp Get ready for a loonnnggg way down! Lots of airtime! Up into the first huge turn around Who isn't having fun??? 92.bmp Another great Arrow over here! couldn't get many photos of it. Ah, I've been hearing many good things and been waiting a while to ride this! Wow, what a classic! Lots of fun, and great for the family. Nothing AMAZING!!! but all great fun. Loved the low to the ground sections! Cool ride. Deals at Six Flags? BULL! Some Schwarzy goodness Loved the setting! Very different, and perfect for families. See? And still thrills! Thanks for viewing everyone!
cal1br3tto Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Hey Zach, I met you on Raging Bull near the end of ERT! Speaking of Bull, I agree with a lot of what you've said. I actually thought the ride was overrated at first (even after all my rides), but in retrospect I've grown very fond of it. It has a lot of elements I like in a coaster, and uses them well. Great speed, good airtime, thrilling turns and helices, and just an overall satisfying layout. The back is without a doubt the ultimate seat for airtime. ERT was amazing and really helped show me what the Bull is all about! Great TR of a great day! I especially enjoyed your shots of American Eagle. That coaster is ridiculously photogenic.

Totally though Bull was going to be the 'pushover' B&M hyber, but man was I wrong! Thanks for the comments, it was fun riding with you!
mcjaco Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Cameron and I have stated this many times, but it seems to go un noticed. That "trim" on Bull is triggered by the weight of the train, and has always been there, regardless of what may enthusiasts will tell you. That's straight from management's mouth at one of the Media Events we were sent to. So, yes. Sometimes it goes off. Sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the weight of the train.
DJeXeL Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 ^Exactly! Trimming an empty/light train = Valley
Cameron Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Great photos! I always like to look at PTRs from parks I'm very familiar with as other people always find a different perspective. I admit that I'm really not in-love with Bull, but I am thrilled you enjoyed it so much. It certainly is extremely popular though, and that is of course great for the park I'll echo the other comments about what a fantastic day it was. Thanks to the park and especially Robb and Elissa. Cameron.
