SonOfBeastSucks Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 When you think about it, we enthusiasts have our very own langauge. A member of the GP could never guess what "SKC at SFFT" or "SoB is such a horrible ride, mayby if CCI would of built it, PKI would have a better ride." People reccomend learning a foreign langauge, but if you speak "enthusiast" you already speak something besides English!
benzo41190 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 i agree with this, i mean when you talk about differnt elements and the manufactures. If you go like this is an Intamin rocket coaster that has a Top hat, some people might not know what you are talking about. Its always funny when the GP tries to talk like us "like this Vekoma Floorless has a loop de loop and goes up to 100 MPH"
zburns999 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Haha. My brother friend says to him on Nitro's lift, "Oh, it's a clink-up, I thought it would be a launcher." It's better if GP's just ride, and not try to sound smart. Zack "I guess I know three languages!?!" Burns
AllisonY2K Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I still think Disney park enthusiasts hold the record for odd acronyms. I mean, can you come up with anything that tops: MVMCP MNSSHP if you didn't know, you'd be scratching your head thinking what the heck they're talking about. (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade, and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, respectively)
FlyingScooter Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 SFWOA: I Rode SUE and it was Fantastic. Whatta release! I went to CP and Millie gave me a great ride. TPR has the best discusions about DW, CP, PCAR, PKI, CLP, SF-yadda yadda yadda, FBI, MJ and B&M's, CCI< GCI and HW for the patridge in the pear tree... hey, this is fun.
jarmor Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 it may be just me but i wouldnt say the initials when I can just as quickly say the name unless its a shorten version of the name. For example I wont say F-O-F, i'll just say flight of fear however I wont say danny phantom flyers, I would just say the flyers, or instead of saying BORG assimilator I may just say BORGass! So if you are actually saying the letters instead of the words, I dont see how that is making it easy on yourself lol lol!
RctInfinity Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ROTM has the most airtime I have ever encountered and my first Linear Induction Motor powered coaster. ^ Try to say that fast three times.
benzo41190 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 A few days ago at SFGAm, a kid was like, "mom, who would go on a coaster that goes upsidown?". The mom was like ,"people who like having blood rush to there head". Then when waiting in line for Hades some girl was like, :this coaster goes upsidown 10 times when it goes underground. Then her sister was like,"oh yeah, i think there was a coaster like this at Little America".
socalMAN123 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I don't have to take a foreign language class in high school! I already speak one! Wait a sec, don't you have to take a one that you don't know? Yeah my friends have no clue what I'm saying when I speak enthusiast, "Yay, KK opened today at SFGADV! To bad I can't ride Inatmin's new coaster." ---Brent 8)
