Corkscrewy Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Finally decided on a name for this beast. Gunner. Some more theming has been added and a food court as well. SCR73.BMP
Thelegendarymatthew Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 The entrance and exit......same side.......what is this There should also be some kind of break run, I don't really see any, just a drop into the station (bad) the station itself looks rather plain, and simplistic. You can always spice things up a bit. I will say this tho, you have nailed near pathway foilage, which is rather difficult for some people. Thats something to be proud of right there.
Corkscrewy Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Yeah, I built the lake behind the station before adding the entry/exit points. I may have to go in and revise that though. As for the brake run if you look to the left you can see a roof piece, that's where the brake run is located. I'll work some more on the station itself too. It was basically there just to have one for now and get an idea of what everything looked like together.
Corkscrewy Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 A little revision just for Matthew Also you can see there is a brake run SCR74.BMP
Corkscrewy Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Thanks man! I will admnit, I've gotten kind of lazy on my stations latley That needs to change. Been spending too much time on landscaping and forgetting about the basics.
Ace Of Spades Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 The sad thing is, that station (version 1) looks exactly like one of the ones I call my best. I guess I've lost my edge. Anyway, I like the coaster a lot, and the first drop looks pretty sweet to me! I see what you were going for, and I think you pulled it off pretty well. My only advice would be for the last part, just make it a steep drop and then maybe add a small little bunny hill or something. That's what I'd do, I suppose.
Corkscrewy Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Like, instead of having that tall helix section?? And thank you sir for appreciating this ride! There's just something about it that I really really like!
Ace Of Spades Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Nah, more like...um...I'll try to see if I can get an example pic up to show you.
Corkscrewy Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Liiiiike do something like this?? gunner.bmp
Corkscrewy Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 Just wanted to let everyone know that the original layout to Gunner is staying, so I apologize if your not to 'fond' of the layout. Happy Coasting!!!
djbrcace1234 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Hey, it's your park so don't feel obligated to please people. Build for you, and no one else.
let1gre Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I know it's late and I know you're keeping the layout, I'd just like to offer my two cents on the first drop. I think a half turn and then a 90 degree drop that ended with the other half turn would have worked just as well and been more aesthetically pleasing. But that's just my (late to the game) opinion, and I appreciate you sticking with what you think is right.
CorkscrewFoley Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I don't use alot of diagonal tracking, mainly because I'm not a fan of it, but for some odd reason...it looks great on your coaster. It's different, and because of that, you can get away from it. Glad to see Gunner is staying put with its original layout.
Corkscrewy Posted November 28, 2010 Author Posted November 28, 2010 Thanks guys!! But yeah, I rarely use diagonals and thats why I was so pleased with the way this ride turned out. I really enjoy how it looks.
Corkscrewy Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Just got 2 pictures for ya guys today!! SCR76.BMP The new spot to stop and pick up a bite, souvenirs, or just to use the bathroom! The Trading Post, near Gunner. SCR77.BMP Overview so far. You can see how the separate areas are finally starting to come together!!
RCT2day Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The park and your coaster and scenery skills are great, thank you for not using custom scenery. So much to say but I'll just scratch the surface. The roofs for every building are great, almost like CS. The terrain and water fits in perfectly. You're not limited to scenery but also great at coasters. The paths are organized very well. I hope for you to continue with other parks.
Corkscrewy Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Thank you sir!! That really means the world to me. I'm so glad I'm hearing from a few people anyway that really do appreciate what I'm doing. It really motivates me to keep spending countless hours on the game instead of working on college homework. But in all seriousness, I would love to hear more of what you like about the park and if you'd have any tips to help me out.
RCT2day Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 My one tip is you should pass on your skill to me. I like where the yellow coaster comes below the path, i used that in one of my parks but not well. The roofs have dimension and are more complex, like a real theme park. You take your time on the terrain which I love. Only advice is to add the waterfall scenery to the waterfalls, if i am correct it is just ice right now but still convincing.
Corkscrewy Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 haha finally going to have to come clean on that one. I actually forgot to put the water scenery on this map and didn't realize it until after I'd already built that first water coaster and all the landscaping. I made it 12 pages before someone said anything so I guess that's a positive Unless anyone knows of a way to import scenery I guess I'll have to stick with just the ice siding..
sfgamguy Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Unless anyone knows of a way to import scenery I guess I'll have to stick with just the ice siding.. ParkDat found on the download page! Believe me it helps alot! Nice park!
RCT2day Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I feel honored to be the one to spot it. Again, great park
Corkscrewy Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 Thank you sir!! And I'll defenitly have to check that out! haha I've always wondered when I open up a park and they have like 1 or 2 items from a scenery group how they did that.
Corkscrewy Posted February 19, 2011 Author Posted February 19, 2011 Been a while since i've worked on Cloverdale. Since before Christmas actually. Finally got back to work. Just small details so far, nothing major. SCR8.BMP New souvenir building located by Cryptic Nile and Monsoon. SCR9.BMP Gunner is looking as fabulous as usual, you can also see a better picture of the new eating establishment. SCR10.BMP a little more theming has been added by Timberfalls
BkkMan13 Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Very nice park! Like the theming and originality of ride design. But wheres the transfer track on the B&M? Also I WANT A DOWNLOAD
