PriestofSyrinx Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Funny thing is, theres no CS in those screens (To the best of my knowledge) Great work! reminds me of the days when you actually wanted to do the scenarios to get better ones, not just give you all of them!
Calicoasters Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 After a short break to work on other RCT projects I am back! This update comes from Fantasy Village East! The small looping coaster gets a name! The Gauntlet challenges riders to take on two inverting helix and a series of tight turns! Saw Mill Log Run comes to FVE with a mirror image layout of it's cousin on the West and a slightly different paint job too. And for something a little more unique! CliffHanger. CliffHanger features an exciting 1,800 foot inverted layout with tight turns, steep drops, and tight tunnels! All while staying in a compact over themed layout! Thanks for reading
dmaxsba2408 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Inverted mouse looks great. Just a question about the Monster wood coaster, In the picture it looks like it might be a racer/dueler but I really can't tell. Is it one or was that just a lucky picture catching two trains on very similar hills in just about the same location. It also kind of looks like one is heading out and one is heading in or one is running backwards? I can't figure it out.
Calicoasters Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 The answer to those questions will come... Right Now. Monster Of The Dark Forest - New at Fantasy Village (East & West) Fantasy Village West Entrance and Queue Lift Hill Shot The Ride is set deep in the Forest Most the ride's layout is high speed turns and small dips and hills. The pacing is pretty incredible! Overview Layout Reveal Layout Reveal Monster Of The Dark Forest at Fantasy Village East to come soon! So what do you guys think?
QueerRudie Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 It's very interesting to see how you're working with the original RCT and coming up with such gems! MAJOR props to you for turning out an amazing park with some truly nifty rides- the 'minilooper' looks perfect for a park this scale/size- and it fits nicely into your layout. R.D.
jjune4991 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I have looked over your parks, and they are amazing. I love how you can make TWO amazing parks with a simple game like RCT. I've loved all your smaller coasters, and I am pleased to see a larger coaster thrown into the mix. It reminds me of Raven or Beast, where it has the lift hill that can be seen, but the rest of the track is hidden in the forest. Great job with this, and I can't wait to see more!
djbrcace1234 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 That woodie has to be one of the best terrain type coasters I have seen in a LONG time! The fact that it takes classic wooden coaster elements, and enlarges the overall experience is just fantastic. Love the name, too.
Calicoasters Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Wow! Thank you guys very much for all the positive feedback! Honestly this project wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for all these comments inspiring me to keep it moving. Monster Of The Dark Forest was a tremendous struggle for me to make at Fantasy Village East. I spent close to 10 hours on layout changes trying to make this coaster better than the other one. In my opinion, the final layout did NOT achieve this goal. I kept this design because it looks phenomenal and I came to the realization that it didn't have deliver the same experience as the other one. Monster Of The Dark Forest @ FVW features a long exciting well paced layout that hardly ever peeks above tree height after the first drop. Monster Of The Dark Forest @ FVE features... The entrance and Queue are almost identical Lift Hill Shot (Though they look identical this lift is a little taller.) After the first drop everything is the same until you reach the second hill. The drop extends down further into the valley where the maximum speed is reached Though the pacing isn't as good as it's cousin, this version provides plenty of steep drops even closer to the end of the layout Overview Shot #1 Overview Shot #2 Layout Revealed. Monster Of The Dark Forest utilizes the terrain to deliver steep unexpected drops, high speed turns, a vertical loop, dark tunnels, and an exciting water splash ending. Thank you for reading!
dmaxsba2408 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Everything is as good as it gets! Love the two coasters and really love the LOOP!
jjune4991 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Haha, I just realized that this was like a BGW/BGA battle of the coasters. Anyway, I like the second version. I think the layout is fantastic, and the added "extra/crazy" pieces (loop and splash) are a nice touch, but I kinda don't like the loop in the game, in my opinion. After that, this is great! Keep this going! ^How did you do that like thing?
dmaxsba2408 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 To the right where the faces are there is a "View more smiles" link at the bottom, it is on page 2.
let1gre Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 This park is truly incredible. I loved the original RCT and I hate that I can't play it anymore. I love how you are making such a fantastic park with a great feel with nothing more than the game gives you. True talent!
Calicoasters Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Thank you guys for all the awesome comments! I love how you are making such a fantastic park with a great feel with nothing more than the game gives you. That's not entirely true, I had to make some "alterations" to a ride at Fantasy Village West. Nothing too major, just changed the train style and operating mode to a coaster.
let1gre Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 ^Even so, it doesn't take away from the talent you've shown here.
Mastersax68 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Wow... that woodie...Awesome job. that's one of the best woodies I've seen since Comet. Great Job!
Calicoasters Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 Coming soon! Dungeon @ Fantasy Village East The Gauntlet @ Fantasy Village West But first... Did I add a train to CliffHanger? I wish RCT1 Had block brakes!
djbrcace1234 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Hahahahaha, What a great effect there! I'm actually trying to learn how to do that myself. Excellent job there.
Calicoasters Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 ^Lol, I didn't do that! I was working on Dungeon (On the other side of the park) and the message bar alerted me that A car on CliffHanger hadn't returned to the station. When I rolled over there all the cars were stacked and it looks like a long coaster train.
dmaxsba2408 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I'm actually trying to learn how to do that myself. You mean with RCT or RCT2, I can help you with that PM me. As for the back up, is there a second lift near that location to cause it backup like that? I can only remember having that problem in RCT when the ride would break down and of course since there were no block brakes more than one would end up at the next lift but only the first one or two would actually get on the chain leaving the rest to pile up. Block Brakes are one of the best additions to RCT2, that and stacking items.
Calicoasters Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 ^There is only one section of lift track on the ride. My theory is that the ride broke down. The ride suffered a break down that caused the lift to stop with a car just at the bottom of the lift. When the ride reopened the next car in the station spontaneously dispatched leaving only a small gap in between the car in front of it. In RCT1 (Maybe 2 too, but I don't know) the brake section track can be a bit harsh on cars sometimes (randomly.) What I mean is that I've noticed brake sections designed to slow the car down to 4mph will randomly slow it down to 1 or 2mph. I think that this happened to that car in front, and the car following closely behind it did not get the wrath of harsh brakes causing it to rear end the other car. Then the pile up kept growing 1 by 1... And that's what I think happened that faithful day! Now on to an Update We all are familiar with the ride Dungeon at Fantasy Village West... What!? You've never heard of it! Here it is! Dungeon @ FVW Dugeon is a prototype style pipeline coaster that features an "out n' back" style layout. The ride utilizes transfer sections to alter the direct of the cars without using turns. The journey back to the station is pitch black (most of it being underground) as the car travels through small dips and a surprise inversion. The ride really isn't much worth bragging about. It continues to exist only for it's charm and originality. When Fantasy Village East was offered the Dungeon name did they go in the same direction (mistake) as it's sister park did years before? The answer is... NO! Dungeon @ FVE The ride has two lines leading to two rides under the same name. Hey Look a Drop Tower! Lets take a look inside! Two inverting rides packed into a cramped dark building to deliver a thrill that covers many fears! 1st. The fear of falling! Dungeon takes riders high above the platform only to hang them upside down providing the sensation of "hang time." 2nd. the fear of claustrophobia. Not only is the building and queue pretty cramped, but the ride's cabin is very compact and resembles a cage like room. 3rd. The fear of darkness. The only lighting inside the "Dungeon" room is inside the cabin only during the loading & unloading process. And that's the Dungeon! The Vampire coaster as seen in these pictures is (So Far) my favorite coaster I've designed in the chain. I'm looking forward to doing an update featuring both the Vampire coasters soon. But first! The Gauntlet comes to Fantasy Village West. Well, it's been there for a long time now. Actually it was the very first ride I built and it got the ball rolling for Fantasy Village project. This picture was from my second update revealing a little bit of what to expect. I will reveal the Gauntlet later on today! Thank you for reading!
jjune4991 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 That is awesome. I'm glad they didn't go with the....ehem....interesting Togo project. I like the idea of double inverters in the building. And three phobias have to be overcome while riding them. Great job! Also, can't wait on an update about Vampire. Great job!
Calicoasters Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 We are proud to present to you the next installment of "The Gauntlet" attraction. Manufactured by the same company that created the original Gauntlet and both Dragon coasters. The Fastest, Steepest, most intimidating rollercoaster in the Fantasy Village Franchise. Here only at Fantasy Village West - The Gauntlet The Gauntlet is located very close to the park entrance. The ride is always extremely crowded at park opening. The ride has it's own fancy entrance just off the main midway. The queue is almost always full! People love this ride! The train blast out of the station reaching it's top speed in just about 1 second! The train then rushes straight up, YES! 90 Degrees straight up towards the sky. As the train travels over the top of the hill riders experience a massive amount of negative G forces, forcing their bodies up out of their seats! As if this wasn't enough already the train then plummets down the other side of the hill again at a breath taking 90 Degrees! Now speeding into a massive banked turn, the train travels through several Medieval Tower Houses before getting airborne again on the second hill. The ride continues with a slight right turn through another Tower House and goes airborne again with a 3rd airtime hill! The ride makes a final large left hand swoop through another Tower House and under the entrance before coming back into the station. I used the savedgamemodifier to get the Twister Train and Power Launch Mode on Vertical Coaster track. I really hope you guys like it! I love it! It's the whole reason I started building the park!
Calicoasters Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 After working on several other uncompleted RCT projects, I'm finally getting back into the rhythm of Fantasy Village. Here is an new update for Fantasy Village West. Mine Kart Madness is the park's Wooden Wild Mouse Style Coaster. Here is a peek at the ride's layout. Right next door is a small Log Flume (Yet to be named.) Some sections of the ride are beyond view from the midways. On the other side of Mine Kart Madness there is plenty of snack stalls and a Hot Dog restaurant right along the river. Plenty of seating, scenery, and a great view of The Gauntlet's Top Hat! Speaking of The Gauntlet, rumors are starting to surface about Fantasy Village and the Manufacture of The Gauntlet and Dragon coasters. Apperantly they recently signed a contract for 5 new coasters! While I do consider myself to be a big fan of their coasters, I don't think putting that many coasters from the same manufacture is such a good idea. This new deal will bring the count up to 9, that's a lot from the same manufacture for only 2 parks.
let1gre Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Such a great park!! So glad you are continuing this one.
