drumlover
Does anyone know if there is a record for the longest time spent on a Tilt-a-Whirl? Because my friend and I just recently did it for 3 hours straight and would like to go for the world record.
Hercules
Contact Guiness Book of World Records directly and see if that would be something they would be willing to sanction. If so, they would set a time, date and location to have an official watch you do it. Good luck. Edited July 28, 2010 by Hercules
coastercrutchfield
I don't know people can spend DAYS even WEEKS on a amusement ride!

larrygator
Besides the fact that your first post does not make sense grammatically... Â 5. Do not post for posting sake. Â Â Â I'm just moderating!
fatdaddy
I think if you could arrange this while a local fair was in town, you might be able to get a tilt a whirl to use just because the local news might want to run a story about it. Or not, i dunno, just a thought.
drumlover
I was going to do it at the local waterpark/amusement park. They let us do it last time so im sure they will let us do it again.
Canobie Coaster
^ Smaller parks would probably endorse something like this since it would bring some publicity to their park. Â As long as there are no lines, I really don't think you should have a problem getting permission to try and set a record like this. Â While I've never come close to three hours, I've ridden the one at Funtown 8 times in a row before. Why did I stop? I just wanted to ride the park's better rides eventually like Excalibur, Dragon's Descent, Astrosphere, etc.

Philrad71
Because my friend and I just recently did it for 3 hours straight and would like to go for the world record. Â Wow...best of luck to you, my friend! Â Yesterday, we went to our local county fair where crowds were light because of a chance of t-storms. They gave us the most insane cycle on the Tilt-A-Whirl I have ever had! Not only did the car (would it be called a car?) spin with enough g-forces to make you grey out, the entire program must have lasted at least ten to fifteen minutes because there was no line! It was awesome! Â I was going to post a PTR, but my camera's batteries went dead. I still might post some photos, but I didn't have a chance to get as many ghetto-licious photos as I would have liked!
drumlover
Thanks for wishing me luck! Â @canobie coaster: there is never a line on those rides. Also, since it's partnered with one of the best zoos in the country, the Columbus zoo, I don't know if they would endorse it or not. That would be so cool if they did though. jamesdillaman
^^Yeah, Ohio really has a powerful punch for us zoo enthusiasts between Columbus (one of the best in the nation by any measure) and here in Cincinnati (still number 7 according to USA today!) only 90 minutes apart!! Seriously if you're in Cincinnati or DEFINITELY if you're in Columbus, take a day and check out the zoos! You won't be disappointed. Â Back on topic, I want to remind you that if you DO get sanctioned for a World Record attempt, there better be a darn good photo TR...

Because my friend and I just recently did it for 3 hours straight and would like to go for the world record. Now when you say "I recently rode for 3 hours straight" do you mean that the Tilt-A-Whirl was in operation for three hours without stopping or that you did three hours of various ride cycles? Â I would think that the challenge would be to see how long you can go without it stopping at all. Â --Robb
Hercules
^ I agree. If by chance Guiness was contacted, and by chance they did want to sanction this event, I would have to assume the would want it to be a continuous cycle, and maybe throw in a drink or bathroom break every hour or two. drumlover
@robbalvey: We rode it for 3 continuous hours straight, not with cycles. But we had our ipods with us to listen to so that helped a lot.
