cooksta77 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 ^ *FACEPALM* Rooting for Italy, Mexico and the US of A (My signature) all I can say is just...Just Go Mexico!
chemical_echo Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Congrats, Portugal, you beat and embarrassed the worst team at the World Cup...
ZeroG001 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 ^That game was so much fun to watch, though! It got really silly after the third goal. What happened to North Korea after their game against Brazil?
cooksta77 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 How does he do it? I mean the ball hits and it stays the same and perfect. Cristiano Ronaldo's hair is just amazing!
ParkTrips Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Congrats, Portugal, you beat and embarrassed the worst team at the World Cup... and somehow needed to throw in 16 fouls in the process - wtf?
larrygator Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I can't believe American fans cared. Â Right after the game ended, everyone driving in Manhattan seemed to be honking their horns for the next 5 minutes. Then again if this had been the New York Yankees winning the World Series (or the Puerto Rican Day Parade) the horn honking would be still be happening.
Hercules Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I have to say that was absolutely incredible. Â To be honest, I think ESPN's full coverage of the event is what is getting people more into the game.
BeemerBoy Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 To be honest, I think ESPN's full coverage of the event is what is getting people more into the game. People were really into Curling for awhile too.
Hercules Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I didn't say Americans are going to start watching more MLS or Premier League games as a result of this.
cooksta77 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 History today as two brothers played each other in the World Cup for the first time. Jerome Boateng of Germany and Kevin-Prince Boateng of Ghana. They have been fighting due to Kevin-Prince rupturing Ballack's Achilles. Thought it was interesting.
chemical_echo Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Australia was so close to making it through, I was so hopeful for them. Damn Ghana and their goal difference.
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I can't believe American fans cared. Right after the game ended, everyone driving in Manhattan seemed to be honking their horns for the next 5 minutes. Then again if this had been the New York Yankees winning the World Series (or the Puerto Rican Day Parade) the horn honking would be still be happening.  The party for Mexico lasted longer than that out here.
ParkTrips Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I remember being in Washington in 94 when the Mexican team qualified for the knock-out round - not a huge deal, even to me as an American - and the city was full of crazy Mexican celebrators. That was my first glance into how passionate of an event the World Cup can be
BeemerBoy Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I'm now rooting for Mexico, just to see how many "locals" here would risk deportation by being stupid, and breaking laws during their celebrations.
cooksta77 Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 With my Italian's knocked out I'd like to post this video to express how I feel.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIGIAh2GTOA&feature=player_embedded
zaneymon Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I must laugh at the fact the NZ got more points than Italy in there group. This pleased me and the rest of the country.
The_Ginger Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Inland Empire, representing at the world cup. It's so cool that that Landon Donovan is from Redlands! I was surprised when I found out, because I don't really link Redlands with soccer superstar.
cooksta77 Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Carlos Bocanegra is from my hometown of Alta Loma, CA so we got all the Inland Empire love.
atem122 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 After all of the media hype, I'm glad the Americans were able to deliver the true U.S. soccer experience today
HCLcoasters Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Ah well, it looks like I have to root for Germany now.
cooksta77 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 And Mexico outlasted the US of A. Let me put on my shocked face..... ! Andrew "Lets go México" Iorio
Josh Linn Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 It was a good run while it lasted...shame it had to end. Bradley is a moron for starting Clark and Findley though. Clark is the reason we went down 1-0 and Findley does not belong on this kind of stage. If Altidore keeps developing and the defense gets patched up by young guys, we'll be much improved come Brazil 2014. Â And, since both the US and Ivory Coast are out, go Holland.
ParkTrips Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 What a disappointment. They just ran out of gas trying to play catch-up in the 2nd half. Damned early goals.
