TheScooterGuy Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 With Google Street View, you can almost look at any place anywhere! You could find your house, the place that you work at, or even your car or yourself if possible! Here's my interesting finds: A billboard on a trailer! Make Otto your Motto for fancy timbers! Woodchipper This is my workplace!
KevinM Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Not street view, but the brand new "earth view"...
AJClarke0912 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Haha, me and RollingRunner looked at this in Google Earth last night when we were chatting...quite the accurate 3D rendering of Kingda Ka I must say...
TheScooterGuy Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 Here's more: A beachside carnival at Victor Harbour! Golden Grove (a suburb), was voted in 1998 for the best residential estate project. After being fading eyesores for 10 years, these signs have since been removed!
piers Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I see how this could be interesting but in my opinion none of the images posted are anything to be excited about, just random crap we all see day to day.
AndCamSS Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Looks like Kingda Ka isnt the only one in Earth View....
TheScooterGuy Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 Australia's first street view images were taken on a Wednesday (a rubbish collection day) in late 2007 & someday in early 2008! This is my house, and my wheelie bin was down the driveway instead of on the kerbside! All the other wheelie bins were already on the kerbside!
themeparkologist Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Regarding Earth view; If anyone ever gets the chance, never look up WDW in Earth view. It looks like they *almost* tried, but totally bombed everything possible. The Spaceship Earth is, well, an eyesore, Cinderella castle is very short and fat, and Expedition Everest was well...not as bad as you might think it could be. But there are little tree stand ins that are annoying! Eh, KK and TTD looked promising. /sorry, end rant On topic now, How do they get the footage? Moving vehicle?
TheScooterGuy Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 How do they get the footage? Moving vehicle? Moving vehicle of course! It has a 360 degree camera mounted on top and the camera is operated by probably the movement of the vehicle! More of my finds: The Adelaide tramway extension down King William Street opened in 2007. This bus was orginally used in New South Wales! Silvers Circus, this was located in Noarlunga next to the roundabout of Goldsmith & Lovelock Drive.
RollingRunner Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Streetview is good only becuase you can tour virtual Hersheypark! And the pictures don't come out half bad either!
TheScooterGuy Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 And the pictures don't come out half bad either! It's 'bout time Australia's images to be updated and of a higher resolution! I wouldn't be suprised if I saw the Street View car while I'm mowing the front lawn!
SharkTums Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 ScooterGuy, please ease up on posting random pictures of places that no one other than you will ever go and don't really have anything interesting in them. Thanks.
TheScooterGuy Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 The street view pictures of Hershey Park are of excellent resolution! Has anyone appeared in them? Anyways, here's some theme park related ones: This is a beautiful model of the Sea World Monorail! Waterslides at Wet N Wild waterpark! The most accurate shots of White Water World to date. Hopefully, there will be street view images of Australia's theme parks soon...
themeparkologist Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 ^Which SeaWorld has a monorail? I though the defunct one near LA had a monorail back when it was open...
TheScooterGuy Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 ^Which SeaWorld has a monorail? I though the defunct one near LA had a monorail back when it was open... The one in Gold Coast Australia has a monorail! I've been on it once!
themeparkologist Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Ohh...there's a park in Australia named SeaWorld....ohhh.... I was only thinking of San Antonio, Orlando, and San Diego.
cooksta77 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Came across this. If this is your house I'm terribly sorry. lol. Burn Baby Burn!
TheScooterGuy Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 Came across this. If this is your house I'm terribly sorry. lol. Was this on the news and what state was it in?
