Ledgy
Yesterday I wanted to get rid of my depressions of waiting for the ClubTPR Package and hating the sluggish international postal service . I decided to go on a trip to Phantasialand Bruehl, to look what have changed after my last visit in the Winter (Photo TR: Phantasialand "Winter Experience"),and after that on a fun fair that´s for two weeks located in cologne. Also it´s a good possibility to make some photos of the changes the park made since last season. Wuze Earth is going to be finished and the Old Town of Berlin gets a new great show place... Here are my photos - starting in China Town: The good old Feng Ju Palace Buddha shelter us from the inside of this building... ... the Geister Rikscha!!! (HEY......... HEY, HO!....) A small place where you can do some meditation, for getting rid of the fear you have after the ride OK, now we come to the Colorado area: There it is... the beautiful train and track of Colorado Adventure (a nice family ride, but you already know that ) going Deep in Africa and finding a hotel in that lost place in the jungle A model of the hotel (I like these presantation models) Uh-oh, watch out, there are black mambas in the jungle!!! - Nice to see it again after a while - ... and it´s wild... ... as you can see... Did we met somewhere before (maybe in the winter)??? Old Town Berlin has to be next in time... ... some sweets... ... more sweets... ... never ending sweets... Aha, that is the meaning of "SEVEN" a new show in the Winter Garten... with Jan Rouven watch here to get more information: www.7-phantasialand.de/ While they removed "Gondelbahn 1001 Nacht", "Walzertraum - Bottichfahrt", "The Brandenburger Tor" and so on in the winter time, they built a large building which divides The Old Town Berlin area from Wuze Earth... (often discussed in this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54083) They hughe place will be used as show area and they will put there a small merry go round or something like that. Here is another view of the large place... IMO it looks a little bit empty, but they are not ready, yet. We´ll see... And now it´s getting more interesting for you, I guess. WUZE EARTH! It´s getting more beautiful than it was. This is a really great place for families, now. There are enough attractions for small kids and looks so nice... There is THE FUNNY PARROT A view on Octowuzzy (waterplayground) and the playground behind. It´s nice and they built a cafe for the parents next to it. There you can see more new attractions THE GAY BEE HUNTING (left) and THE WUERMLING EXPRESS (above all, but not ready, yet). There is also the WIRTL´S TAUBENTURM Here is a view on the see, where WÖZL´S WASSERTRETER and behind that WAKOBATO are located Nice statue! Galaxy´s Entrance is also located in the Wuze area (FANTASY) right now. Don´t know wether this is it´s enduring position or not. But I hope that it will be. Then we can guess, someday it will give a 4D attraction with the wuzes... Entrance of the Wuze Village where more attractions for small kids and a indoor play area are located. Don´t forget the WINJAS!!! But I didn´t took photos today... Another view of the THE GAY BEE HUNTING (right), THE WUERMLING EXPRESS (above - here you can see the missing parts) and WIRTL`S TAUBENTURM Oh wow! There will be many birds to be fed, look at all these small bird houses! And that´s the last new attraction: CLOUD´S AIRMAIL Didn´t realized in the winter, that the entrance of FLIGHT OF PHOENIX has changed? By the way, someone who never has been here before won´t find HOLLYWOOD TOUR behind this small alley! I guess they will remove it in the next years??? That is something for the entrance building of WUERMLING EXPRESS. WAKOBATO entrance building. A boat of the wakobato ride. WHO IS... ...THAT PERSON??? Reaching the Mexico area you have to go on the following right, unless you are impationed of riding it - like me. Ledgy
And here it is Talocan!!! (Watch it here in )[coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Talocan_-_Nero_zpil[/coastertube] Stonewash & Wildwash Creek Think it is an exceptable amount of wetness The great dark ride "Silbermine" It was one of my favourite rides in the past. Now we are in the Mystery area with a view on RIVER QUEST... ...at the right site, you can see the themed elevator, which get the boat on the top... Because I never tested it while missing time and prefering other rides in the past, I do now! Inside the building... ... are some nice places. But, in my opinion, THAT WAS an unexceptable amount of wetness!!! - I got deep pore wet! Mystery Castle looks so great! But it´s too late now, the park closes. ... And I´m still depressive... But I have a small coaster credit coming later... Edited April 13, 2010 by Ledgy
the ghost
No Winjas? Anyway, that was an awesome trip report. I never realized how much stuff there was to do and see at this park, and based on your trip report I am assuming this park is huge, yet Ive reallt only payed attention to the coasters and Talocan. I REALLY want to get to this park someday as it is one of the few that is on par with the Disney and Universal parks, and very few parks are able to do that. Ledgy
^I know it´s a mortal sin, but I hadn´t enough time at reaching the Wuze area before closing, so I missed them. But will make an update next time This time I tried to take the focus on the theming and new attractions.
mattnz
Cool TR! I was sad to hear about the old Schwarzkopf dark ride 1001 Nacht closing, but it looks like a lot of interesting additions have come/are coming to Phantasialand. Thanks for sharing. matteocrepaldi
Grat photos! I love this park even if I still have to visit it! Talocan looks amazing! I hope to be able to ride it without getting sick.
CorkscrewFoley
I can't get over how amazing this park looks. I haven't been yet, but the theming alone would actually distract me. I actually first of Phantasialand because of the two Schwarzkopfs that were once there, I know River Quest replaced one of them...names are slipping me at the moment. Thanks for the TR. DJeXeL
Black Mamba's themeing is second to none! How is it as a ride? Is it as good as dare I say.....Batman Clones?
Ledgy
I actually first of Phantasialand because of the two Schwarzkopfs that were once there, I know River Quest replaced one of them...names are slipping me at the moment. Thanks for the TR. They were called "Gebirgsbahn" and the smaller powered coaster "Grand Canyon-Bahn" (both by Anton Schwarzkopf and Werner Stengel). The "River Quest" is located on the complete area after they burned down in 2001. Here is a picture: (Source:www.freizeitparkweb.de) Black Mamba's themeing is second to none! How is it as a ride? Is it as good as dare I say.....Batman Clones? I think that question should answer a more experienced coaster enthusiast, because I only know the Batman Coaster at SFMM to compare with. In my opinion Black Mamba is a very intensive ride and I like it more than Batman, because of the themeing while you´re riding on that coaster. Don´t know how Nemesis at Alton Towers would crop in a comparison, until now?
Ledgy
... Like I told you I was still depressive and have a coaster credit on my way back after the park closes, my Topic story goes on... I drove to cologne and went on a fun fair located there for 2 weeks... here are some night shot impressions - I love evenings on a fun fair with all their lights: Kölner Frühlingsvolksfest - Cologne´s spring fun fair 2010 (Deutz / Cologne) Sweet little Merry Go Round Eclipse: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Eclipse_z1q2[/coastertube] Don´t have to miss... bumber cars. Wild Mouse Coaster Credit!!! Hey Elissa, would like to see an encore presentation like I saw in "Coaster Expedition - Vol. "!? Drink some Kölsch... A new Fun House, I have never seen before. Inside are many slides and the normal stuff of a Fun House Mini Coaster Credit - only for the small ones I loved this ride as a child: Europa Ring - Go-Kart-Track: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Europa_Ring_-_Go-Kart_07s2[/coastertube] Shake: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Shake_y0bh[/coastertube] It doesn´t have to miss on a fairground. The beer was tasty and I want more now / The Sex Test told me I´m a super lover (ok, I lie), so I had to got into the old town of cologne now for more Kölsch and maybe some flirts Some night shots of the beautiful cologne and the cologne cathedral... Ok, time for more Kölsch... ...and another location... coming nearer to the central station one last stop inside the "Alter Wartesaal" Because of the beers I have to leave the car in cologne and take the train. There is a hint for the possible next park visit and Photo TR... Do you see it... ...yes. Europa Park will follow soon... mmmh, have to stop for some "Elissa friendly food"! But I prefer to this one. This picture is especially for Elissa, concerning to the "Elissa friendly food" Thread. Enjoy your meal!
SharkTums
Wow, if McDonalds in Germany would sell pretzels that would be the best thing ever!!! It could totally happen! McDonalds in Italy sold Caprese Salad, McDonalds in Spain had Gazpacho, who knows!?!?!
Ledgy
OK, sorry. That wasn´t shot in Mc Donald´s, but next to it in the central station hall. But who knows it is defenitively a good idea. Edited May 2, 2010 by Ledgy

Ledgy
Keep in mind that you WILL need a car, cause it'd be really hard to visit them by public transport. iplf
^I know it's possible in Germany, but if you're coming from Brussels, you'd first have to take a train to Koln, then to Bruhl and then take a bus to Phantasialand. And you have to get back as well. So you will need 3 days for a 1 day park-visit I guess.
Ledgy
You´re definitively more flexible by car and you should choose it over the train connections. But 3 days!?! Isn´t it a bit excaggerated? You need around 3 1/2 - 4 hours by train, so why 3 days? Obening time is 10:00am and the park closes at 6:00pm... (I searched at the Deutsche Bahn homepage, there are driving trains between Cologne and Brussels from 08:00am - 07:00pm) So, if you want to do, it is possible to visit the park only in 1 day, too. And exactly the same for Europa Park. But this park is much taller, so you will need more than one day to get the whole experience of the park. Tezee
For your information: from brussels is not a problem. Take the train from Bruxelles-Nord to Cologne main station (ICE 11), here you can see the timetable: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/traininfo.exe/dn/734976/373914/549082/29549/80?ld = 96 133 & SEQNR = 6 & ident = n6.08890133.1272308136 & date = 29.04.10 & station_evaId = 8800002 & Station_Type = dep & currentReferrer tp = & rt = 1 & of cologne central station you take the train "RE Koblenz Hbf" or "MRB Mainz Hbf" or "STR 18 Bonn Hbf" In brühl you go out. then you take the shuttle bus to phantasialand. always comes at hh: 25 and hh: 55 The park opens clock 9th
