coasterdude5 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Hey guys, I am beginning work on a very experimental film which currently has a working title of "Project Peep". I believe this will be the only Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 production that will take peeps out of the computer and into the "real world" (please correct me if I am wrong). The inspiration for this came a while back as I was playing the game - I thought to myself, "What if the peeps knew they were peeps?" What if they could see out of the computer screen just as I could see into it. This is not an official project, I might not even complete it. I'm just testing out some things I've always wanted to do and adding a little story to it. This is not some epic real life adventure movie - it will be quite short compared to some of my latest films. I am still looking for a male and female to voice the main roles. If you think you might be interested and have the proper equipment, please post here so that I know you're interested. Here are some test shots that I have been working on over the past couple of weeks. Yes, Charleston Gardens Amusement Park will be featured in the movie. This is where the movie will begin: Charleston Gardens Amusement Park "Have you ever wondered what that... that.. thing is in the sky?" The two peeps get their wish as they crossover to the real world via a malfunctioning "Heatwave" coaster. This is only a test shot - she is not one of the main characters. Please tell me what you think of this!
Mr. Starr Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 WOW! This is definitely one of your more ambitious projects. I would love to see more!
Angry_Gumball Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I'm going to take a guess at this and say that you used the green grass and blue skies to your advantage to work as a blue/green screen? Looks pretty cool so far!
coasterdude5 Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 Hey guys I have a small update on "Project Peep" for you all. I am still looking for a female voice for the female character. I know you guys really want my movies to have voices - this is one of the reasons why I don't. I've had several males submit samples so we're good in that department. Ask girls you know if they would be interested. All they would have to do is read a script. If I can't get a female then the entire movie will have to be "subtitled" which I know nobody wants. In other news... I'm still getting used to playing around with the greenscreen: This is by no means a finished product. Right now I'm still in the thick of getting shots filmed in the game and outside of the game. However, I am having to wait until I go home to shoot scenes - I don't think a dorm environment is very stable for peeps! But by this screen you can see that the peeps will have I am also looking at several possible names for the film. Please feel free to give your opinion on these or even offer up your own! - A Tale of Two Peeps - Peeps in the Real World - Peeps! - Real World Peeps - Peeps: The Movie - Peeps Crossing Over Thanks for all the support of this project!
fraroc Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I think "The Ride of their Life" sounds cooler
RCT3D Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 could you get some pics of the main characters with different poses in a pure white background? I will be able to come up with a great name then.
KPWoCkAxX Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I think 'Peeps!' is the best Most eye catching. And it's simple, you can't go wrong with simple.
coasterdude5 Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 Beyond Pixelation It's playtime! Hey guys I have chosen the title Beyond Pixelation for this film. Despite the unfortunate news that the movie will not feature voice talents, I am having a fun time putting it together. It's not going to be a work of art, but I think most of you will enjoy watching it. To hold you over, I've put together a short preview trailer. Tell me what you think! This film will poke fun at many things, including but not limited to: Miley Cyrus, myself, Voodoo Village, and more! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NkroZOK3LU Preview Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NkroZOK3LU
Mr. Starr Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Very nice, definitely looking forward to this one!
coasterdude5 Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 Hello everyone, I apologize for the lack of updates on this project. Don't worry, I'm making great progress, it's just hard to show alot of previews since this is a short film - I don't want to give everything away. I am looking at releasing Beyond Pixelation on Tuesday, January 12th, but that might change. Stay tuned to this thread for updates! Here is the official film poster for Beyond Pixelation:
the ghost Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Aren't you in college? If so your dorm is awesome if they allow pets.
Thelegendarymatthew Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 ^You can still live at home, and go to collage. Its a bit more cheaper. Also, this looks interesting.
tedten Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 This looks amazing. It's a bummer that you could never make money off of the idea since RCT isn't your property. I would totally go see this movie in theatres. Can't wait to watch it on here!
coasterdude5 Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 Watch Beyond Pixelation Today! I am very excited to be sharing this film with you! While it's far from perfect, I think it represents the starting point for a whole new realm of possibilities for this game. The first ever CD5 Digital Short entitled "John Stevenson's Backyard Amusement Park" precedes the film. Tell me what you think about it! Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vor3anLPmac And as always, I can't wait to hear your reviews!
Mr. Starr Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Great video, as always. Nice to see the usage of CGAP! It would be interesting to see a sequel, or more things that you can do with peeps in the real world. I just got a new computer, with a microphone, so anytime you need a voice for a movie, I'm probably available.
dino Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Very clever premise, and the video was pretty cool. I loved the digital short though, thought it was awesome!
Xizor_Racer Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Very Cool. I would have liked to see you come in and pick a little coaster car off the floor or have a big crack in the computer screen...... that would have been cool.
BkkMan13 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 ^ yeah thatwould've been awesome. Maybe find the peeps on the floor... Very good movie, never seen anything like it. Stupid peeps, shouldn't have questioned the box in the sky.
Stoksy Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 W.O.W!!! Impressive work CD5, looked great! Especially the transition between the game and real life. How long did this take you to film?
