robbalvey Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 They'll have a ton of new land to work with in 2011. Maybe it's time to move that woodie they've had SBNO down the road for the last couple of years?
Screamin_Eagle Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 When I went down to Silver Dollar City in December for the Ace Coaster Christmas event, we got to go on a tour of the work site, which was a pretty cool treat! I took some shots of the construction while we toured the area, and I figured I would post them...
Shavethewhales Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 ^^I don't know about the wildcat, but that render on GCII's facebook does sort of match some of SDC's topography... Â A huge update was posted on Flikr today, showing even more work that's going on: Â Streets have been torn up and are being re-built, new water lines and such everywhere, buildings are being refurbished, FITH has had a complete make-over... All-in-all it looks like the park is really being cleaned up for it's 50th year in operation, and is being poised to grow in big ways soon!
Screamin_Eagle Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 oh I am really excited about seeing FITH this year, I love riding that classic ride.. will be nice to see what changes have been made.
Guy T. Koepp Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 This looks awesome! I am hoping to get out to SDC this year for the first time. It looks like a beautiful park.
kidcoaster 2 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 This looks awesome! I am hoping to get out to SDC this year for the first time. It looks like a beautiful park. Â It is one of the most Beautiful Parks out there. If you get a chance to go to SDC go, trust me you won't regret it. Also don't miss the Marvel Cave tour or Grandfathers Mansion, and if you are into it Happy Frogs easily the most intense kiddie rides out there. Â Great to see River Blast coming along it will be a nice family addition to the park to make up for the loss of Gyser Gulch.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) Looks like it'll be more themed than Buccaneer Battle, and closer interactions with other boats! Can't wait...! Edited February 14, 2010 by Jerrykoala2112
Screamin_Eagle Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 They were telling us on the construction tour, that the bridge you cross after exiting the station, has guns to shoot passing boats underneath.. a wet ride for sure! Â and yes, you have to hit Marvel Cave while there, its free and lots of fun, as well as grandfather's mansion..
christianscoasters Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 There is the possibility that I will be visiting SDC on March 18 or 19. Will T&HRB be open? Will all of the rides be open? We're visiting the College-Conservatory of Music on Cincinnati, so I thought we might as well visit a place on our way home. Branson is slightly out of the way, but not too much.

Moose Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 March 18th seems a bit early in the season for an opening of an attraction that will get you soaked, but it looks like they will be ready by then.
