For awhile now I was using Windows Media Player for watching any and all coaster videos. When I had to find a player for a few .avi videos, I came across DivX. Now I use that to watch both .avi and .wmv coaster videos. For some reason the videos play a lot smoother and aren't as blocky when I view it full-screen.

So I was just curious what player you all use to watch videos with. I'm starting to like DivX more and more when I use it to watch anything video-related.

If you just install the Codecs, you can play divx in media player.

I use WinAMP and MSMedia player, depending on which has taken over file associations at the time.

I tried downloading codecs to play other files in WMP and I kept getting error messages. checked my net connection, tried a little while later, nothing worked. finally I said 'heck with it' and looked online for an .avi player and found DivX. tried it with my .wmv's and it played really well too. *shrugs*

I use Windows Media... It's the best!
No... It's not...

Seriously guys if you haven't checked out VLC it is one of the best media programs I have ever played with.

Windows Media Player is just a hopeless hodgepodge of various interfaces that aren't intended to be used with one another. The whole thing barely holds together at the best of times and the way they put together their one window interface makes me seriously question whether they have any user interface design employees at all. Seriously one of the most poorly designed apps I have ever seen... Of course it is coming from the company who is well known for poorly designed interfaces so what am I expecting...

Trying it out now, so far: Not bad, love the no-fluff feel to it.
