CP_fan_boy Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I have seen people post about credit whoring all over the boards. I have two questions. 1. What is credit whoring? 2. Am I a credit whore? I have ridden: 15 of 16 coasters at Cedar Point (missing Jr. Gemini) 5 of 6 coasters at Michigan's Adventure (missing Big Dipper) 3 of 3 coasters at WDW Magic Kingdom 1 of 1 coaster at WDW MGM Studios 0 of 1 coasters at Animal Kingdom (missing Primeval Whirl) 1 of 2 coasters at Camp Snoopy (missing Timberline Twister) That means I have ridden 25 coasters and hope to have ridden 35 coasters by Labor Day.
CoasterFanatic Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Credit Whoring is basically the act of riding ANYTHING to boost your total ride count/track record. If you were a credit whore you would have: Stolen a kid to ride Jr. Gemini Rode both sides of Primeval Whirl and counted it as 2 coasters // Primeval Whirl is definately 2 coasters. It even has 2 records in RCDB (A Rarity) due to it's independent structure.
BarryH Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Here is the "Queen of Credit Whores." I'm going to hide!!!!!!
BarryH Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I love Uncle Bernie's. That Jungle train ride had great common jungle animals to see like cows and deer!
downunder Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Does credit whoring also entail the lengths you will go to to get a new credit? For example who's heading to Nebraska to get the credit for their new coaster.
DenDen Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 ^Not really. I think it sums it up in saying... credit whore (cred-it-hor); a coaster enthusiasts who will do strange things to increase their track records by numerous scenerios. ie. riding coasters normally not intended for adults, finding ways to ride coasters when the general public cannot, bribery, sexual favor, gun point, etc. It's more about "How low will you go to get that credit?"
philcoaster83 Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 On the subject of credit whoring; Yomiuriland Standing and Looping Coaster, 2 or 1 credit?
SharkTums Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 ^1! I've bribed my way onto Kiddie Coasters, but then I think they realize how pathetic I am and don't take my money!
djrappa Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 We offered a bribe to the Ops on the last day of Wonderland in order to get the last ride but they let us make sure we go it anyhow Stupid Ops wouldn't take our hundred bucks to let us take another ride by ourselves though... not that bright a move when you consider they effectively lost their jobs that day when the park closed
BarryH Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 I almost credit whored the Minor Mike at Celebration Station. I felt really dirty doing it. When I arrived, I took one look at the place and the coaster and said, "Hell, no!"
disneygurlz2s Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 I tried to be a credit whore at Holiday World yesterday, but my 7 year old refused to ride "The Howler" because she wanted to go ride "big rides" Shari "Should have ridden with some other kid" Shoufler
X Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Credit Whoring counting racing coasters as 2, stealing kids to go on kiddie coasters and sacraficing your head at parks such as Parc Astreix and your krotch at parks such as Expoland to add credits to your credit list.
CoasterFanatic Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 ^^ You can ride the Howler without kids. I know from my creidt whoring experience
disneygurlz2s Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 ^^ LOL.... Guess I should have tried it! Shari
dubaidave Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 i would say Yomiuriland Standing and Looping Coaster is 2 if you can get on both sides. When I went they only had the Sitting side running I was gutted.
Ghost Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Is Credit Whoring a well paid job? (is it save and does it come with benefits?) My doctor told me "Goofing" around is healty
Louise Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 When counting up how many credits you have, what exactly do you count? Is it JUST coasters? :?
CoasterFanatic Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 ^ Counting flumes and rapids would be WORSE than credit whoring!
Louise Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Ok, guessing it's coasters only then?! So what would be one step lower than a credit whore? A credit ho?! Lou- "the credit ho" -ise
CoasterFanatic Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 So what would be one step lower than a credit whore? A Coaster Enthusiast!
