Loefet Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 ^ I'm pretty sure that Windows can't read the files on the Mac part of the drive properly. Do you have NL on the windows computer as well? in that case just copy all the files over to the windows drive and run the track packager from that, or if you don't mail everything over to another NL user with windows and let him/her package it for you.
DC High Heat Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Put all your files in a zip folder (if Mac has those) and upload to zshare.com...then send that link to someone to package for you.
4rturo Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Do you have an external HD?? If you do then it's pretty simple.....
Sunfire Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Alright here we go.... Most of you might already know, I'm running NL on a Mac. I have Windows Vista on here too run thru 'VMWare Fusion' so I can run both at the same time. Anyway, I have the Track Packager obviously on the windows end, but it says it can't find the "Root Folder" when I go to open up the Packager. I located the NL folder on my Mac going through the Windows Track Packager but it won't let me choose it. I have to open a file and I don't really know how I will since this is the Mac version of NL so it's all different apps and all. Anyone know anything about how to fix this situation. I just need to package the thing up and it would be RIDICULOUS to email ALL the files to someone because its a ton and it'll probably be over the size limit for my email at least. Thanks I had this problem too, back when I had Windows XP. I think I can help. Whenever I opened the Track Packager, it said the same error message. I was able to avert it manually. When you try to open up the Packager and you see that error message, there will be a button to browse to find the folder you want. I believe the directory I used was C:/ProgramFiles/NoLimitsCoasters1.7, then you select No Limits Simulator, and hopefully the Track Packager should open up. I had to do this EVERY time I wanted to open a new Package, but I got used to it. I hope it works.
awclark Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 ^Well I tried your idea and that didn't work. I don't feel like spending the cash for a program I already have that's just in a different coding format or whatever either. Sooo... I think I'm just going to zip it and send it to someone. I'd kinda like that person to test it too if they wouldn't mind writing a couple paragraphs or so on what they think about it. I MUCH prefer criticism over praise on my stuff just because it's details I can improve on for not only the current un-released ride, but for my future rides as well.

Why not upload it to the NL exchange site? I've started doing that with my tracks seeing as how they've gotten such negative reviews here.
themeparkman25 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 ^I think people are just trying to be mean or tear your models apart or anything, but rather just trying to help you improve. It happens on my models too, and I build them with my hands! Anyways, I downloaded Serenity, awklark, and it was a very awesome coaster. I don't know why I missed it earlier! Great job, and I am sure this one will be just as awesome. Wish I could help with your situation.
awclark Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Well for all the reviews I've received for my coasters, I read them all. If one is all praise, then cool. If any one review has something said that they didn't like that I myself didn't personally notice, then I go to where they say they didn't like it and validate it. Most if not all the time, it's valid criticism. I know I'm not going to please everyone. I really don't care if someone's mean or not in their review. It's not like I'm all that crushed if the reviews aren't what I expected. While yea, sometimes I think people need to chill out. I set out to create an experience and yea, you can nitpick all you want and the review can come out mostly negative, but you can't sit there and tell me you didn't at least enjoy it a little. I care more about just making a fun realistic experience. While I love making the tracks, the themeing and scenery is always in the back of my mind on how it's going to interact with the surroundings. My favorite part of making these things is seeing all the themeing slowly come together and watch my vision come to life. My goal with every project is to just create a fun ride that's unique, immersive, and thrilling. Someone could give me a 2.5 rating on one of my rides for all I care. Being happy with what I created is all I really care about. ^^ And I did recently sign up for the new NL exchange site, but thanks for the suggestion.
Spideyfreak Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 ^Amen! Now that's a good NL designer! I'll package it and review it if you would like. I'll PM you my E-mail address.
nln00b Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I am so excited! Thanks awclark! B.T.W., what is the new NL exchange site?
awclark Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 ^I actually found it almost by accident. I went to nolimitscoaster.de and went to the latest news to see if there was an update on NL2 and the latest one is that a new exchange website opened I 'think' the reason being in light of CS shutting down. I believe it is just "nolimits-exchange.com"
Sunfire Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 ^Ugh, I'm still sad about CS closing down. I visited that site ever since I bought NL in '05, and now that I have a new computer, I lost a lot of quality coasters. Some cornerstone rides were there.
nln00b Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I was unfortunate enough that I was never able to see CS Thank you soo much Awclark for trying to get this figured out quick. I know macs can be a pain at times
Golfie Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I love seeing people put so much time into the post-production of their work. That's how you can tell a person is really into the project they're working on. I love the color scheme and layout of the entire site.
awclark Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Thought I'd give an update with some facts and details. The ride is in the testing phase right now. So far, so good. Just a minor glitch that was quickly corrected. Also I recently ran a ride cycle test to make sure no stacking occurs and no train gets stopped on one block because the other has yet to clear the next one (ie. it would only happen on this ride at the top of the lift). All of that checks out good. I also ran the cycle test to calculate a theoretical hourly capacity as well. I tried to get the cycle time realistic to what happens in actual parks. Ie, the train sits in the station longer than a 'perfect load time' because in the real world, you have slow loaders, slow exiters, people who can't fit, people who are too short, and people with loose articles, so I tried to find a medium between all those to get a realistic time and I think I have it. Anyways, after running the test, the number I have is right around 1200pph, which I think is pretty decent considering there is no stacking and we 'are' dealing with a Vekoma Flyer here which have all been notorious for slow loading. Well, testing should be done somewhat soon so hopefully I'm looking at a late-September to mid-October release date. Nothing is set in stone though.
nln00b Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 OMG!! Getting Closer to the Release date! I have been waiting for this since day one!
808Freq Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 B&M could have had this thing cloned 5 times in the time it's taking, lol.
808Freq Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Haha, well don't worry my friend. For some reason I don't think the creator of this thread(or coaster) checks this thread anymore. Like I was saying before, it's been almost a year since he's even posted about it, and evidently it was pretty much done back then. Which is why I figured I just missed it.
Coaster Cow Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 ^Or,you know, they might just have a normal life outside of TPR and Nolimits...
808Freq Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Well, either way, I hope I can find it somewhere (if he released it), I was certainly looking forward to it.
