I am SO SO SO dead tired right now. Today was a mix of emotions type of day. The park had tons of problems with opening ridesi n the morning, and it was cold as hell. It wasn't the park's fault for the rides to close however, it was the wind and coldness. Wind gusts were insane. Nitro valleyed which I can confirm, and I heard El Toro valleyed as well. In the morning only Batman, Skull Mountain, Scream Machine, and Superman were running. By 6pm, Batman, Skull Mountain, El Toro, Rolling Thunder, Scream Machine, Dark Knight, and Superman were running. Waits were pretty minimal for most of the day. Toro's slow dispatches and one train made over a hour wait however. Though once with two trains and faster dispatches it will easily become only twenty minutes. It did get warm but took a long time. Ran into a lot of great people! Also got to meet Big Mike from the Big Mike Show on Theme Park Review. It was a great time. Below is the update, and due to being so tired with a Phillies Game, six hours of sleep, and Great Adventure their is no captions. Most explain themselves. Enjoy!

That last pic will not show. I will have to remember to check it out another time. Cool Pics! I have never seen the park THAT empty before! lol. I totally love the colors for Bizarro! Although I am kind of surprised they have yet another comic book coaster in yet another part of the park... but I have always loved Medusa as a ride. In the end, who cares what the name is.

What a bummer that all the rides were not working. If you do not mind my asking, what is valley-out? (Or whatever the term is). I have never heard that one before.

Great PTR! (Cool sneakers too!)

Josh I saw you today. I said Hi but I guess you didn't hear me. I was the one with the El Toro Hoodie...I'm actually in a group picture under El Toro's sign.

I have seen the park emptier once, Family Fall Fun Night last year. Only 410 people supposedly were there. On the sky ride, I saw a total of 5 people (not counting the employees) walking around the park.

Valleying is where the train gets stuck usually at a low point because it doesn't have enough speed to make it through the entire circuit.

The thing I worry most about is that the park won't get the theming done in time for opening (if ever...). I know they've been working hard on S:ROS, but I have seen little to no pictures showing progress on Medusa. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, or in the right places, but it doesn't really look like they have anything done on Medusa, save the paint.

Thanks. Oh wow... that really sucks. I just read in the BMRS topic that one of Nitro's cars are still stuck on the track. That really blows. It is not my favorite ride there, that first drop just doesn't like me. But I definitely wouldn't want to miss riding it while there.

OH, Josh, (or anyone) those lockers... do they ask for crazy $$? I finally used the ones in Florida last year. They were pretty reasonable. It would be great to bring my Nikon D40x and not worry that someone will take it while I am riding.

$1.00 per use, up to 2 hours. The thing is, if the waits aren't bad, you can leave it in 1 locker and go to other nearby rides. Since Batman, Nitro and The Dark Knight are within a few hundred feet of each other, what you can do is put your stuff say in the Nitro locker and leave it there while you ride Nitro, Batman and TDK rather than having to pay to put it in a locker each time.

They are very strict with the locker policy, you can't take anything with you in line that won't fit in a pocket, not even the souvenir refill soda bottles and now this year every coaster except the kiddie coasters and Runaway Mine Train and Rolling Thunder have them.

I presumed Nitro vallied seeing as it was hardly making it through the course while I was watching it test in the morning.

Well anyways, today was pretty great despite the fact that Nitro, Kingda Ka, and Medusa/Bizzaro were closed, and yes; It was indeed FREEZING. [especially walking around in a t-shirt and jeans].

Although I didn't really get to say more than 'hi', it was nice seeing you momentarily in line for El Toro, and nice report; You about covered it.

Is it just me or does it appear the Big Wheel has NO lights on the wheel itself whatsoever? I'd think it would've been easier to install the supposed new LED strips while the parts were still on the ground...

Great trip report! But some of the photos don't make sense without captions. Food Court? What can food do that warrants a trial, inside an amusement park no less!??!

Medusa is barely recognizable with the new paint job. Bizarro indeed.

Too bad you couldn't get picks of the valleys on Nitro and ET.

Thanks for the TR.

Nice pics Josh... I wish I could have been there! Hows Toro this year?

It was running pretty slow yesterday, due to the high winds but it was still great. I got on it first train of 09' in the backrow!

Great photos Josh, even though some of the coasters were closed in the morning, it was still an awesome day.

Well here was the epic shot that should had been on the second post!

I did manage to get on a lot of different rides and rides I would never normally ride, but no re-rides due to the wind. That is okay though, I've been on all the rides more than enough in my life. I hit Batman the Ride, Skull Mountain, Tea Cups, Carousel, Scream Machine, Superman, El Toro, Rolling Thunder, Fly Me to the Moon (just to stay warm, hahahaha) and The Dark Knight.

El Toro was running a tad slower due to the fact it was fighting the wind throughout most the ride, but it still had so much ejector that the average rider or first time rider for that matter would had not even notice the difference. Batman to me felt like it was going extremely fast through the entire ride. It was great!

The park really tried to work their best to open all the rides. To the point that riders were sitting in Nitro waiting to be dispatched as the last empty train valleyed.
