benzo41190 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Its about 10:30 PM here and I was looking for Robb's name in the credits for "Call of Duty". I saw my dad outside watching the HUGE storm and i decided to go out with him out on the porch. Then we saw a huge flash that followed a gun shot like noice and then it was black. Then it hit our mind that we shouldnt be out side so we tried to run in our house but the door slammed shut and we were locked out. So my dad had to climb up the side of the house to get back in. This hole time we were in rain and lightning. Once we got back in the house, we looked outside and then BAM! a bolt of electricity shot doen from the sky and struck our ladder (the one my dad was on 1 min. before). Now i am told that our tornado warning is cancelled but there are a lot more storms comming.
crispy Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005  oh man, scary, yeah i drove through a minature tornado last year, it was wierd and very scary stay safe, and remember the safest place to be is on top of a big hill flying a kit with a metal string
SharkTums Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Yeah note to self, don't climb on metal ladders in a thunderstorm! Elissa "TPR Safety Tip of the Day!" Alvey
benzo41190 Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 Well it was get in the house before it got bad, or stay outside in very bad weather. Ben "sometimes beign dumb pays off " Schmitt
dandaman Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 A really severe storm popped up here yesterday, actually. I think it was spawned from the same front that moved you Wisconsin. A bolt struck the field just outside my friend's house. Even though it's been relatively dry this summer, the field didn't catch fire... probably due to the buckets of rain coming down at the time! The weird part is, it developed right over our heads in 10 minutes, and in another 15, it had completely fizzled out... Danny "Wow, that was my longest post ever!" Smith
CP_fan_boy Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 In Manistee, we had almost four inches of rain in one hour on Sunday morning. On Tuesday morning, I got 2 1/2 additional inches of rain. That's almost 7 inches of rain in two days!
kat11joe Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 This last weekend we had a short but furious storm pass through our town. It came a flash flood with hurricane like winds. We were listening to my hubby's police scanner and we heard them saying that a tornado was spotted on the other side of town  Then a little later, we heard them saying that it had ripped up awnings, uprooted trees and tore off some people's roofs and they saw someone's roof floating down the street  By the end of the day, it was sunny again Crazy california weather
CoasterCrazy Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Elissa "TPR Safety Tip of the Day!" Alvey I thought of a great idea! I think some one should make a "TPR Safety Tip of the Day" thread!
