SharkTums Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Hey there! As part of a cruise, we'll be in Portugal and Spain April 26 to May 2. We'll be in Barcelona April 30 - May 2. We'd love to meet up with any TPR Members in the area! We'll mainly be taking things easy but are planning to do Port Aventura Thursday, April 30 and Tibidabo Friday, May 1. We are aware that May 1 is a National Holiday. Is anyone interested in meeting up with us? We have a proposition for anyone interested as well, so get back to me quick! Email me or post back ASAP! Oh, and prior to arriving in Barcelona we'll be at Tenerife, Lisbon, Cadiz, and Malaga if anyone is around there!
Noxegon Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 You should consider doing Tivoli World while you're in Malaga. I've only seen it from outside but it looks like a nice park...
SharkTums Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 ^I looked into it and I believe it's closed the day we're there. I was thinking of trying to contact them to see if we could at least just get the credits, but then I saw the offerings and we'll probably just do some cultural stuff instead! Thanks for looking out for us though!
Fry Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Culture...? In Malaga...? I must have missed that when I was there
matteocrepaldi Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I'm not from Spain but I can get there easily! I can't wait to know more info about it!
SharkTums Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 ^^When you come from Los Angeles, pretty much any other place on Earth has 'culture'! Awesome Matteo, I'll post more details when we have something set in stone!
BeemerBoy Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 L.A. has no culture? Isn't a trip to L.A. pretty much like a trip south of the border.... minus the checkpoints?
Crazy4Coasters! Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 As a "brown" person just let me say you forgot to mention "Little Tokyo", "Chinatown", "Little Armenia" and the one closest to my address "The Jungle" How dare you say L.A. lacks culture with all these colors running rampant through our streets!
Shockwave Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 This might well be doable! Had a great time at Port Aventura & Tibidabo just over a year ago, and it would be nice to go back. PM has been sent.
robbalvey Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Culture...? In Malaga...? I must have missed that when I was there The cruise ship offers other excursions, sometimes exclusive to the cruise shops, for the ports that we are going to be docking in. A note to those who are looking into coming from outside of Spain (Matteo and Tom) - please keep in mind that this will be a much more "brief" visit to PortAventure and Tibidabo for us and it's not going to be like a "TPR Trip" park day at all. Remember this will be at the end of a two week cruise for us, so we'll be pretty wiped out! It's very possible that we may only spend a couple of hours at each park and then head back to our hotel or do other things with family. We just want to be able to meet up with some TPR Spanish locals who don't have to go too far our of their way. I don't want anyone to be dissapointed that they've come all the way from the UK or Italy to meet up with us only to find out we're actually not staying for very long. --Robb
Shockwave Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Thanks Robb. That's as much as I expected given what you're doing apart from the parks. I'm gonna look into doing a few other things while I'm there and see if it would make a worthwhile break - visit Camp Nou, Montjuic Park, look around Barcelona, etc etc.
matteocrepaldi Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I thought about it and being week days I probably won't be able to go anywhere. Maybe I'll see you another time!
Noxegon Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I might have dropped down myself, but I'll actually be in Forellenhof Plohn that day...
SharkTums Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 ^We'll be there Friday, April 24th! We're heading over to Loro Parque (you know, credit and all!) and so KT can see some animals and birds. Want to meet up? We won't have the time to head to Siam Park on this visit, but I can see us doing these cruises more often so we'll be back!
