AlexG8462
I know it has been 2 years since Back to the Future The Ride closed in Universal Studios Florida and Hollywood, but since the Back to the Future trilogy was rereleased on DVD last week, with the ride footage as bonus features on Disc 2 of the first movie, I figured it is time to look back on one of the greatest rides of all time. These are my favorite photo's of the ride before it was announced that it would be closing, after the announcement, and on the day it closed. I should also point out that Disc 1 on the new DVD has the exact same menus and bonus features as the box set. The only difference is the cover of the disc. Time to end this blast to the past with the last photo I took of the building. Sorry that it is a little blurry. .......until now. Some of the footage in the lobby is missing, but the DVD has 98% of the footage with some footage I've never seen before! Back to the Future had officially closed in both U.S. parks with no way to relive the experience......... The final photo of me in front of the building before The Simpsons Ride was built! The fateful moment when Back to the Future The Ride closed. My brother in the waiting room on our last ride. The hat was a foreshadow of what would replace it. ......along with a note, that I noticed on the day it closed. There's that giant speaker from the first movie....... Remember what the inside of the building used to look like before The Simpsons Ride came in? Some random cup that someone placed. There was still a crowd of people waiting to get on though. Even with the ride having the longest wait time in the park on its last day, this area never filled up! There's that Delorean they were giving away. "Gee, I wonder why Back to the Future has the longest wait!" The banner that appeared a month before it closed. I quickly snapped this photo with my phone. This dinosaur poster has always amused me for some reason. The Institute of Future Technology logo. I've never seen credits for any simulator ride except this one. The famous logo. Another shot of the building. An old photo of me and my brother with the Delorean. A shot of the building. I thought I would post the only photo I have of it in Florida. I know its a bad photo. >
robbalvey
What a great thread! Thanks for posting these pics. I'm sure we can use some of them in the Park Index. If anyone else has to BTTF photos to post, please add them here! Thanks! --Robb
UberBeavis
Do you want pics of the Delorean doors sitting backstage? (you can spot them on the studio tour now)
Reality15
I was a bit upset when they said the ride videos would be on the new DVD set, considering I bought the "old" set when it came out so I could have the movies on DVD. BUT! For those of you that are in the same boat, there is a chance! Netflix has the "Bonus Features" DVD available. It's at a "Very Long Wait" right now, but I'm hoping that settles down sometime soon! Anyways, your pictures are really cool. Back to the Future: The Ride was one of the reasons my parents took me to Universal when I was a kid just because I was obsessed with the movies (I was even Doc Brown for Halloween one year). It's nice to see some pictures of the "other" ride in California!
Electerik
Hmmm, I thought I had more than just these two, but I guess not. Florida's gift shop. Florida's rampy queue.

Teacups Make Me Sick
*sigh* One of my favorite rides ever...based on one of the best movies ever. I really am not looking forward to going to Universal next time I'm in SoCal. Its good to know that the ride isn't on the first B2TF movie...since I already have the box set.
