terrancew_hod
^Actually, I was looking into playing around with doing some custom scenery for my next coaster (possibly my current coaster as well since I have some photos I need to get ready for my next update). Maybe I can experiment with it this weekend... that is if I can give the "Gay Werewolf" comic panels I worked on this week a rest! My porn friends liked what I had anyway! gavt1976
I think the park looks amazing and i am looking forward to see more of it.
mcjaco
^ In due time. I managed to get my hands on Imageworks blueprints, so I now know what upstairs looked like, which is where I was stuck. So many projects, so little time.
paintballer
Man, It's gonna suck doing World Showcase. The front's looking great, I've never seen such a detailed RCT3 recreation. Infact, I don't think I've seen any other recreation of this stature.
mcjaco
^ Actually Pate over at Atari has done a fabulous job on World Showcase. I don't think I'd even attempt it after his version.
Shellemonster
It's a shame you can't populate these parks to look like the real world counterparts, complete with 3 hour lines, in order to get that truly authentic feel! Your park looks spectacular. I'm am about to dive into the world of custom scenery and hope that it leads me somewhere half as awesome as your creation. rydrmr9
Wow this is great!!! Its like you traveled back in time! Increible! Are you going to put this up for download??
mcjaco
Just an FYI: I lost a good portion of work on this. A virus from Facebook was randomly selecting files to delete instead of sending to the Recycle Bin. I was backing up my files to do a refresh, and the RCT3 files in My Docs, managed to get deleted. I've got a backup, pre-Imagination construction. Sigh.....
COASTER FREAK 11
Bummer Matt. But you're really good at recreating the park. I know its a lot of work, but you can do it!
Shellemonster
At least when you rebuild it, the structure will most likely be better than the first version. Not that the first was lacking, but the second time can be just as satisfying.
mcjaco
^^ Thanks Chris. ^ You are most likely correct. Especially since there's been new custom scenery, and I've gotten my grubby mitts on the floor plan of the Imagination Pavilion, as well as World of Motion. I just hate setbacks. Blah. CorkscrewFoley
Regardless of what happened, this is looking fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished product (don't worry, I'm a patient man).
astro
Before it.... well got deleted, did it lag really badly, or was it running smoothly?
mcjaco
^ Surprisingly, it was running very smoothly for it's size. It was maxed out on the grid. I've been really trying to stick to only two or three wall sets for all of the buildings. The less sets used, the less the CPU has to process (right?). You also have to remember that there aren't a whole heck of a lot of rides in Future World. One, maybe two, per pavilion, so there's less animation which means less lag. I'm hoping to jump back into this by Sunday.
mcjaco
Shameless bump, but I started working on this again over Thanksgiving weekend. I ended up completely dismantling the Listen to the Land ride, and starting over. I found blueprints for the ride, and I had a lot of it all wrong, so it would have driven me nuts. I also swapped out the default monorail for the DatMatze one, as it more closely resembles the Disney versions. The plan now is to finish The Land completely, and not move on to another pavilion, like I had been doing. With Revolutionary Rides new Omnimover CTR, Spaceship Earth, Imagination and World of Motion will finally be easier, and more authentic than previous trial attempts. I'm also working on a short movie for a billboard for the beginning of Imagination, instead of just looking at static pictures, and a a couple of short slide shows for Listen to the Land. smjm1982
hey mcjaco.. You may or may not remember me from the old forum, asking about not missing the detail with jiyi; I can see you've done it and the rest of epcot plenty of justice.. its been a while and i've basically fallen off the map, bought a house amongst other things.. well now with my dvi to hdmi cable and a 52" Sharp HDTV, RCT3 looks better than ever. I was hoping you might have a download link of your great park. I have to admit, I thought lag was going to be a big issue with large parks but I now realize that the pentium core 2 duo or later and a generous amount of memory has run just about any park I threw at RCT3. Good seeing you haven't thrown in the towel, I realize you may have lost some files but please do see if you can find your park save & if you get a chance, please do put it up here when you can. What I really hope is that atari may gain a renewed interest in a possible RCT4 and maybe create linkable parks as well as drivable vehicles so we can map together multiple parks such as Epcot, the Majic Kingdom and even hotels such as the Grand Floridian. Well here's to hoping.. all the best to you mcjaco!!
mcjaco
Absolutely, remember you! Welcome to TPR! I hear you about the house. Life seems to get in the way of fun. Work on EPCOT kind of hit a grinding halt. I messed with it a few months ago, but got caught up in other things. I also came across multiple pics, and blueprints, which meant back to the drawing board for The Land. I'm too anal to let it go as it were. Once I get done with the TPR Game Exchange project (hint, hint), I'll get back to work as the weather gets really crappy.

mcjaco
^ Thanks. Just looking through this thread makes me angry that I've delayed so much on this. And I've barely done anything in a year. That has to change.
mcjaco
Uh oh. Spaceship Earth has gone topless! Shot0000 (Medium).bmp Finally sat down and messed with the Omnimover CTR. Took about an hour, but I figured it out. Now I just have to get the track layout more correct, and I'll be off on finally completing one ride! QueerRudie
OUT FREAKIN STANDING! I'm glad to see you've revived this thread- as I find that it's eye-candy beyond anything else- Not to mention- for the 'younger' people here, they can see an EPCOT that I remember- from when I was their age. mcjaco
OUT FREAKIN STANDING! I'm glad to see you've revived this thread- as I find that it's eye-candy beyond anything else- Not to mention- for the 'younger' people here, they can see an EPCOT that I remember- from when I was their age. The old dark ride from RTC Vanilla just never cut it. I was so excited that an Omnimover CTR came out, but I never could figure it out for the rotation. It also is very limited in track options, so the entrance and exit are not accurate as they were with the original dark ride track. Oh well, I've decided I just need to go with what I can accept as good enough, and move on. The track layout is fairly accurate, but it needs tweeking. It was fun to see just how impressive and sizable SSE really is for a ride.
mcjaco
So, with impeding twins on the way, my little office room is being taken away and thus my game PC is being moved out. I have a laptop, but it can't process RCT3....or at least I doubt it can, as it has on board video. This project is now at a full stand still, not like it's much better than what it's at now, which is a horrendously slow crawl. I kind of lost steam, when I realized I needed a ton of CS to do this right, and the rate in which it's coming out now, I don't think it'll ever happen. One never knows. I may see if it'll work on the laptop. I do want to thank everyone for their support on this. It will happen one of these days....
