4 Tool songs on World Tour

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but I have no idea what some of the abreviations mean you guys are using.

What is TTFAF standing for ? And DLC ?

Posted

TTFAF = Through the Fire and Flames. It's the song by Dragonforce that you unlock when you beat the game, and it's ridiculously fast and hard.

DLC = DownLoadable Content. Basically, songs (or maps and stuff for other games) that you can buy off Xbox Live or whatever the PS3 online marketplace is called (sorry, I'm not sure). The Wii is also starting to support DLC.

Hopefully that helps!

:lmao:

Were talking about how you play synth parks on GH 3.

In which your logic fails again. Hmmm, keyboards played with a controller.

If you don't like the charting, go play a real instrument. You'll make Wes happy!

It's not necessarily failed logic. Many people are into the Music Game Franchise... these games having the highest selling rate of many of the games that are coming out.

People critique other video games with flaws. So why aren't we able to critique how the game is made?

We're aware that the controller has only 5 buttons and a real guitar has 6 strings. It's just the fun of playing the game.

Activision took Guitar Hero and butchered it with adding unneeded double and triple chords throughout songs, as well as placing the notes randomly on the fret board. Everyone knows that the closer you get to the top of the neck, the lower the frequency is supposed to be, and when you get lower on the neck, the higher the frequency. It just seems like some of the notes are plopped in the wrong area.

To me it's no fun playing synth/piano parts during a song on a guitar controller. If they wanted me to play synth or piano, they should've included a keyboard controller as well.

Yes right now I am trying to learn a real instrument, the bass guitar, and i probaly will still be playing guitar hero when im good at it.

Exactly. Why get your undies in a bunch over some silly programmers that were just trying to make the game challenging, instead of musically correct.

^ Kalvin. For the last time, proof read your posts. CAPITALIZE properly.

Go Kalvin! Bass guitars rock! How long have you been learning? What can you play? Is your Guitar teacher the craziest person you've ever met?

Personally I think Guitar Hero is Better than Rock Band. It's the original, Although they're very similar Guitar Hero has that slight edge over Rock Band. It's feel, and the way everything looks is so much better. Rock Band looks as if it has been designed by 5 year olds. I will be getting Guitar Hero world tour this Christmas, So if anyone is interested in jamming with me some time let me know. I also have Guitar Hero 3. I have and Xbox 360 though, so Nintendo Wii and PS3 can't play with me.

On the Dragonforce subject, I think that people have taken that song too seriously. I get it all the time when on Live. "I can 100% Dragonforce on Expert" - Big Deal, No one cares! Get over yourself, Stop spending so much time on a game and try a real Instrument! It actually requires effort!

I have a broken guitar (4 lowest strings) Ive been making trying to make base lines on and I am saving money to get a real bass with and yes i know a 4 string guitar is not the same as a base guitar

Posted

^ Lol, you'd need some serious drop tuning to make a guitar sound like a bass. Good luck with your riffs! Maybe on day in the far distant future we could jam together! It's highly unlikely but still!

I heard that the drum set is crap. The local gaming center is just buying the game and using Rock Band instruments. I was tempted to buy the game until I head that there was only 4 songs on RBWT not on RB2.

Huh? I was just looking at both set lists, and they do have a few songs that are the same, but its not even close to half. They may have some of the same bands, but most of them are different tunes.

Between DLC and the setlists, there is only 4 according to what I heard.

I know one is Hotel California...

Found a video of GH:WT of someone playing Michael Jackson's Beat it. The Singer does moon walking. The drum beat looks very simple for being on a supposed expert setting.

OK, first I asked if anyone had bought it and could review it. Not someone's opinion on the game based off of nothing of substance.

Two, Beat It is a electronic basic drum beat, regardless. So even on EXPERT, it's still going to be mindnumbingly easy.

Can we desist with the Rock Band fanboyism now? Can someone educated enough with Guitar Hero (please note, not Rock Band Blockbuster renter), give me a review? I want to know.

Thank you.

I bought GHWT on opening day, the full band kit, and Im willing to answer any questions about it. So far I like the game, I LOVE the new guitar, and the setlist is actually better then I thought it would be. Yes, there are some songs that are also on Rock Band 2, but most of them aren't, and there's many songs Ive heard a lot but never knew what they were called. I don't know where you heard the 4 songs thing from Spaceace12 but there are WAY more than that on the game that aren't in Rock Band 2. There's really no difference in the mics, but I find the guitar much better than RB's, especially the touch strip, it's a huge improvement on GH3's. I dont really know what to say about drums yet, but mine seem to work fine(theres been many reports of broken drumsets in the launch kits). IMO, there all-around better than RB's drums with the exception of the stand they are on, as it seems a lot less sturdy then the Rock Band stand(when I play, they seem to rock back and forth). The music studio is fun, but its hard to do at first. I love the character creator, Ive already made accurate replicas of Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield(the guitarist and singer of Metallica) McJaco, I say you buy it, but it may depend on which kit you get. Definitely buy it if you only need the game or a guitar, but I cant say yet if its worth it to shell out the full $200 for the band kit, as I haven't played drums a lot yet, but what I have played I like.

Also, the drums are actually very difficult, for an example look up Hot for Teacher on Expert as it seems to be the new TTFAF of drums.

^Thank you! Hopefully, I will be getting the game tomarrow for Wii, and I heard that it is best on Wii. So it seems that I'm making the right choice.

Matt, I bought the game yesterday for Xbox360. I understand that there seems to be a percentage of drum sets that has problems. Lucky for me my set seems to work great (though I really suck at drums). I also really like the new guitar as well. While some of the songs are also included in Rock Band 2, there are certainly a lot more than just 4 songs that are brand new to Guitar Hero WT. I mean three of them alone are Tool songs, which is really awesome. I do have both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. As for game play I do like Guitar Hero a little better, but Rock Band 2 totally owns for online play and selection of songs/downloads. My suggestion is to buy the Guitar Hero set, and pick up Rock Band 2 at some point. You can now find Rock Band 1 for a cheaper price now (buy it used). What is really cool is that you can add all (except 3) the songs from Rock Band 1 onto your HD so you can play it on Rock Band 2 (for a $5 fee).

^ Thank you, Erik.

I doubt I'll but the whole set. Frankly, we just don't have the room for it. I just want new songs to jam too, and the music creator looked really cool.

How's the new guitar compared to the last one?
