thrillgeek Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Those flames on the lift supports look HOT!
DiSab Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 ^No pun intended, I'm sure. Â The scenery and landscaping around this beauty is looking better and better each day. I can't wait to see it when it's finished.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I'm pretty sure they'll make it run smooth. They have a 1979 Vekoma Corkscrew with Bayern Curve and it runs perfectly. They have a former Vekoma engineer in the park ahead of the maintenance. So I guess they know how to handle vekoma coasters

And I love the mountains in the background..
willh51 Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 This ride is beautiful, I just hope they don't have to repaint it soon because that will be a bitch.
guirehbein Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 More and more and more! Â Now, testing FireWhip. Â The grand opening will be on december, 28.
thrillgeek Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Thanks for all the recent pics. I have one question though. Why would they wait to open it till the 28th if it's testing already? I'm assuming it's because they will be adding theming/queue line work but I'm just curious.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 The opening was scheduled for december 13th, but a huge storm hit the state of Santa Catarina (where the park is) leaving about 73 thousand people out of their houses (31 thousand of them totaly LOST their houses) and killing over 100 people. All the roads were closed for a long time (it stormed for 40 days!) so some theming equipment didn't arrive. Besides, with the state in emergency, there's no room for celebration. But on the 13th, the brasilian club of roller coasters will be at the park and the coaster will open during one hour only for us to ride and tha park ill donate 100 % of the money from tickets to help the victims of the storm. To do our part, we, from the Brazilian Club of Roller Coasters, organized a campaing: The two people who give more donations will get the right to ride the two front seats on the first train dispatched.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 That's terrible news but it's great to hear that he park is going to help people where they can. I personally feel sorry for victims of natural disaster.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 It was a terrible event, but the whole country is united helping the victims. The park not only is donating the money from tickets but they also lent an helicopter and three trucks to the rescue teams. Acording to officials, in about 1.5 years the whole area will be completely rebuilt. And the park was not hit, so we still have a touristic spot alive to keep bringing the tourists... Hope to see TPR here some day.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Looks like they've done a great job with this ride but what's with the platform under the lift?none of the other SLC's have that.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 ^^ They've bought the coaster like that and decided to keep it that way. Since brazilians are not used to inverted coasters, it gives a bigger sense of safety for the audience more "family". It came from Japan, so it's got lot's of extra-safe devices...
vacoaster Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Looks like they started letting people ride it. See here.
Coasterbrake Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 WOW!!! The amarikan Parks are all so great!!! I was only with 8 jears in Universal orlando an Walt Disney World Orlando The Parks here in germany dosen't have somany thrill coasters!! I find the coaster great
lucazferrazCBMR Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 this park is actually in Brazil, South America... Â We rode FireWhip on december 13th, on a pre-opening exclusive for the Brazilian Coaster Club. Â I'll send some pictures later on today!
Kalepi_Konei Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 It came from Japan, so it's got lot's of extra-safe devices... Â Like led paint posoining! Wee!
lucazferrazCBMR Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Sorry for the delay on posting the pictures. Â Here go them! The view of the coaster from inside the park And Tigor Mountain, the junior custom Vekoma (3 Vekomas in the same park and all them run surprisingly smooth...) We also rode Dum-Dum, park's wacky warm coaster. Me (with the cowboy hat) on the top of the lift CBMR members going up the lifthill CBMR member with Hugo Loth, park's Operations Director
vacoaster Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 That looks nice ... love the landscaping ... I think tree and other landscaping definitely enhances the ride experience. Do you have any more pictures of the entrance, station, and queue?
lucazferrazCBMR Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 The entrance This is how it was on december 14th. Photo by Jocimar Fisher, CBMR member. The coaster opened today, so tomorrow I'll probably have pictures of how it is now. Another view This is the 3D design show how it is
Jds03 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 The ride sure looks outstanding for an SLC, if not any coaster, but how was the actual ride now that you’ve ridden it? Better than a normal SLC?
