Call me insane or whatever but whenever my sleeping schedule gets really screwed up I simply stay up the entire night and into the next day then go to bed at a decently early time and get a huge amount of sleep in. Always works for me if I can pull it off.

 

I'm not a huge coffee person anyways. But sometimes I just drop dead asleep - any creative ways of stopping yourself from falling asleep?

I do the same thing with the stay up all night and sleep decent the next day, in fact that's what I'm doing right now, school starts in 3 hours 30 minutes for me and I'm staying up because I can't sleep at all.

 

Though to prevent myself from falling asleep I drink water, I don't know why it works for me, it just does, and its good for ya too!

Drink energy drinks, should help. Or you could always take a walk when you're feeling that you're about to fall asleep. A cold shower would be somewhat like an alarmclock aswell.

You'd be better off trying to improve your sleeping patterns. If possible of course. When I used to work in a bakery the random starting times caused havok with my sleeping patterns.

 

Trying to keep yourself awake with coffee or enery drinks will just cause you to crash hard. Coffee will give you a quick burst of energy, but give it an hour or two when it wears off and your energy will drop suddenly.
