This tower was built in 1974
gk Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 That would be fun to have but I'll bet my neighbors would complain.
doublex98 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 hahahaah omg! I would never think they would try to sell the rides over Ebay...my guess is...no one will buy it.
gk Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Hey it says sold "as is" but there's a 7 day return policy. What gives?
DenDen Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I didnt know these intamin towers were resellable. Don't the go in the ground over 100 feet?
astroworldfan1 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Isn't there something on the ride that broke while it was at Geauga Lake? -Tatum
Kennyweird Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 ^ I think so. What, I'm not sure. Perhaps their selling it because they might get more money that way, as opposed to scrapping it.
thrillseaker92 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 ^^I think that it was the gear box that went out in 05 or 06. What ever year they parked the cabin and left it.
coasterdude5 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I think something like this would be cool at Knoebels. Anybody else agree?
geaugalakeinexile Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Isn't there something on the ride that broke while it was at Geauga Lake? -Tatum Nope, they stopped running it, along with the Monorail, after the original water park area was left to rot. You could see the green water, rotting building etc. from both rides. So rather than clean up the original water park, Cedar Fair decided to just not let anyone see the areas.
astroworldfan1 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I can't believe people say Six Flags didn't do anything good for Geauga Lake. -Tatum
geaugalakeinexile Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I can't believe people say Six Flags didn't do anything good for Geauga Lake. -Tatum Ultimately, the only thing that Six Flags did wrong at Geauga Lake was to sell it to Cedar Fair.

I thought it had a blown motor... I could be wrong though. True, they let that whole area go to hell.
Imagineer100 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 It really is sad. I went to Geauga Lake back in 2004 right after Cedar Fair got it and even then you could just tell that CF was just letting the park go. Quite a few of the coasters were down and the rapids ride looked disgusting. If CF had just put a bit of money into it like they do every year at the rest of their parks it wouldn't have taken much to save Geauga Lake but they didn't seem to care. Damn Cedar Fair. CP seems like the only park in their chain they care about at all.

No, the Sky Tower's gearbox broke, and they never bothered to fix it, it probably wasn't worth the money and effort. It even said in the auction flyer that it was the gearbox. That could be part of the reason why the monorail was shut down, but another reason was because it was of an older variety where maintenance was becoming too expensive and parts were getting harder and harder to come by.
Purplepills Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I really don't think ebay would be where someone who wanted this sort of thing would look for it Good luck though.

Yeah SF just did so well. Adding what, like 4 coasters in one year? CF was cleaning up the mess that SF made. They cluttered the place like crazy and were making it less of a a FAMILY park. You know SF was not all that great. Not sure why you are trying to lie and say they did so well. You obviously have NO CLUE to why SF went into debt, do you? Just another year and that water park would of been cleaned out, but the attendance was down thanks to SF. Now you say CF closed it to eliminate competion? Oh that just cracks me up! CF owns both GL and CP, so either way they are making money! You have some lame conspiracies.
