HPCrazy Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Thanks again for all the support and comments. I do have some closer shots that maybe I may be able to post here, so all you guys can see close-ups of my work.
Angry_Gumball Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nice to see this again! I remember when you posted this on Coaster-net a long while back...forgot how long ago it was but I was amazed then...and am still amazed now. I'm just far too lazy to draw the entire park, though it is tempting to do CGA.
HPCrazy Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 I thought your screenname looked familiar! Nice to see you here! Thanks. I didn't know you had an interest in art. Do you like to draw? I'm assuming you live near CGA (like I do with HP). You ought to give it a try sometime, if you have all the right resources available to guide you through (like with mine). Good luck if you ever do!
Angry_Gumball Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I may have posted some of my stuff on Coaster-net. Fish around here, especially in the TPR art thread..you'll see a few of my things in there. And to answer your questions, I am an art major in graphic design and multimedia and enjoy drawing. I do live like 25 minutes from CGA and I'm now at the edge at drawing up CGA now...just inches from grabbing my sketch book. (Going to take several sheets, I'll start with 1 section and work my way around.)
HPCrazy Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 I'm glad that my Hershey drawing sort of inspired you to go and draw your homepark. Are you thinking of doing the whole place like I did, using sheets taped together? That would be interesting. I'd like to see it.
pacoasterrider Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I'm speechless, that's amazing! Â Major props, I'd love to have that hanging in my living room some day
thrillgeek Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Awesome job! Good luck to both of you in your future of sick a** drawings. I would try and do SFDK because I know the place like the back of my hand but I can't draw anything. I wish I was artistically inclined
pacoasterrider Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 any chance you know how long that took you to finish? Im sitll impressed like crazy.
HPCrazy Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 I just worked on it as I felt like it. There was really no timetable to have the thing completed. It was just something I wanted to do in my spare time, and since the other drawing attempts of the park that I did because impossible to continue (due to everything becoming out of scale), I went to work on this one (using lots and lots of researching tools besides knowing the park off the back of my head) and all that research really paid off, as this has been the longest I have gone without having to go and start all over again.
HPCrazy Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Thanks so much for all the compliments! I never really thought this thread would ever go this far, but I am amazed how much attention this drawing has seemed to attract around here. I'll continue to update it, as Hersheypark changes, the drawing will change. Â pacoasterrider: Thanks so much for the comment. That meant so much to me. Actually, it would be a little too large to hang in anyone's living room, lol!
dr.gumbo Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I think it takes real talent and patiance to do what you have done. I was arrogant enought to ignore this thread because I assumed it was just a little drawing stiched together in five minutes. My God, I was wrong!  You can forget all those computer-made maps parks sell you for £5, I would pay £10 for this!
angryemobeaver Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Great work HPCrazy! I do drawings of Kings Island all the time! Never that good, but id' say mine are okay. I hope you get a reply from Hershey, and maybe get to work for them somehow.
rckrazy06 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Like pacoaster said, I would just love to put this up in my room. You really do have a lot of talent hopefully you can take this somewere because this definately can not go unrecognized.
HPCrazy Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 Here are some closer shots of the drawing. Let me know what you think:   http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/HPCrazy/Hersheypark20073.jpg     http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/HPCrazy/Hersheypark20043.jpg     http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/HPCrazy/Hersheypark20052.jpg  Whenever I can find more and get them uploaded, I'll continue to do so with this thread.
DBru Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I'm still in shock! Â Could you take a closer pic of Wildcat? I'd like to get a better view of it's layout (because I'm pretty sure your drawing is EXACT!)
HPCrazy Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 I don't know if I have a close up of Wildcat or not. Those were the only close-ups of the drawing that I could find right now. I'll have to get some other close-ups uploaded and posted on here so you all can see them. Maybe I'll get a close-up of Wildcat down the road.
