WillMontu
8:00 PM EST: Amusement Parks: The Pursuit of Fun9:00 PM EST: Scream Parks 10:00 PM EST: Mega Machines Amusement Parks - Persuit of Fun is actually a fairly old show. Covers a lot of Kennywood (and the Steel Phantom). Also some old footage of BGW (Drachen Fire, Escape from Pompeii), Cedar Point (Raptor), and Universal Orlando among others. There's only a "little bit" of SLC footage. Scream Parks - Goes behind the scenes at Magic Mountain. Of course, there's Jim Blackie (?) explaining how Superman works (when it works), the Goliath construction crew, maintenance people doing some adjustments to Viper, people getting tortured on Colossus during Fright Fest. For some reason, they kept the duct tape out of view. If anyone's got extra bandwidth, I can capture some video clips from these.

Twister II
I have seen Amusement Parks: The Persuit of Fun, but I really didn't like it. But they do have some good shots of Cedar Point!(Before TTD and MF and WT) JohnSmith, I think they are both the same channel, check http://tv.msn.com/ for all listings. In Mountan Time: 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM MT: Amusement Parks: The Pursuit of Fun 7:00 PM and 10:00PM MT: Scream Parks 8:00 PM and 11:00PM MT: Mega Machines If you live in on the west coast, subtract 1hour. pgathriller
I have seen the first one. It is a really cool show. Discovery Channel always has awesome shows on roller coasters! I just watched a amusement park movie about a week ago and it was so boring. It was made in 1990, when I was born. I din't realize how boring amusement parks were when I was born. Rockman89
Wow, Scream Parks actually had footage of Flashback running. That's amazing! It did get very annoying them always refering to SFMM as a "scream park." "So, when is the next time you're going to a scream park, *insert cheesy name*?" Coasterlicious
They need to make some new ones because the information is outdated The show says "Goliath has the tallest drop"........ not knowing that in just a few months Cedar Point would change that phrase to " Goliath had the tallest drop".... And obviously Dragster and Kingda Ka are larger then Superman, so they need to take out the part that says Superman is the tallest in the world.. .... and they always talk about the dumbest coasters also.. pgathriller
^ I agree with you coasterlicious. The Discovery Channel has outdated information. I still think the shows are pretty cool but since it's the Discovery Channel, you would think they would have up to date stats!
Coasterlicious
Im sooo sick of them talking about Superman TE , and how it has broken all the records and how its the best coaster ever.. ... because there are way better coasters... SROS @ SFNE is the best Superman coaster IMO..
Angry_Gumball
I just got a good laugh at the Viper scene as one of the riders heads were banging everywhere throughout the ride and a sudden slam into the restraint during the corkscrew section. I noticed that!! My Viper experience is actually a good one, because I enjoy Darien Lakes Viper, it seems as if "vipers" have bad reputations... but ive only ever ridden one... JamminJ
^Actually, the former Viper at SFoG (a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop) kicked butt.. I was actually sad when they took it out for the oh-so-boring Superman. At least it's found a nice home at SFKK. Also the current Viper at SFGAm (In house wood coaster) is a VERY underrated machine. There is lots of airtime to be had and rated as one of the top Cyclone-clones. And while I've not ridden it Viper at SFAW (Schwarzkopf Looping Star) looks to be another great compact design from Anton that you hear nothing but good things from. It sucks that we have more old shows even after Discovery Channel said the last one was new.. maybe they need a lesson on what the word "new" means. It was fun however seeing some old shows and just critiquing them on how terrible they were. Not to mention seeing the short-lived Axis at Knoebels.. --Jay (who says it's just the Arrow Vipers that suck! )

WillMontu
All of those shows were old. Scream Parks was the newest, first airing in 2000. The other two are even older. The third one was simply "Extreme Rides" with a new name pasted on top. Still, it's the one with the Alpengeist footage with Megan Clark screaming, and Danny Biggerstaff (aka. CoAsTeRDaN as he used to call himself) going crazy. There also used to be a decent show (though old) on TLC before it went all reality shows called Secret World of Amusement Parks. There was another old (though bad) one called Top Ten Coasters. Kennywood Tunderbolt was #1, Magnum was 2, and other rides included Nemesis, GE Comet, and Steel Force. Still, the new shows are nothing to be excited about...unless you love SLC's
