TEASER

The 1995 season came and went, but now we are ready to move towards '96. What better way to do that than with construction updates on a new attraction?

The park received permission to start on the new project last week. Nothing has been publicly released yet, but I threw together a teaser logo to give you a little "heads up" on the new attraction!

First person to correctly guess what the new attraction will be gets a sneak preview of the ride!

^Incorrect. Guess again...

Does anyone know where I can find some old mill custom scenery?

Posted

^^Still wrong... lol. I think there's only one type of water attraction left...

^Thank you SO much! I'll start on this project right after school!

Some sad news... the new addition can not be finished until Wednesday because Vodhin's site is down (no mill scenery).

But I will try the best I can to finish the actual attraction, give you an update on that, and then a second update (with scenery) on Wednesday night.

Sound good?

*ATTENTION! Turns out the download was already completed before the server went down! If the snow hits us bad enough tonight, I might be finished by tomorrow!

^I have absolutely no idea... lol (found it on Google Images)

The ride is complete, the Announcement will be in 2 hours! I have to give the correct guesser of the ride a little time to view his "sneak peek".

ANNOUNCEMENT

"We are very proud to announce the first expansion to Indiana Adventures amusement park," stated park owner, Mark Campbell. "In the spring of '96, our family owned park will open the Mill Creek Falls log flume to all guests over 40 inches in height." The new attraction will be built and designed by Arrow Dynamics or Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mill Creek Falls is themed to a log that falls into a creek, and taken by the flowing water to a grain mill at the waters edge. Riders will be ripped down a raging waterfall under a bunker of rocks, which will trap in their ultimate splash down.

"Last year Indiana Adventures opened for its first season, which was very successful. The park included a whole section dedicated to young children, and plenty of higher thrill attractions for our more daring guests. But what the park lacked was something for the whole family and a water attraction. Mill Creek Falls log flume will cover both of these categories!"

"We can't wait until opening day of the Indiana Adventures second season on May 3rd. Hope to see you there!"

I have received an all access pass to the park from Mr. Campbell. Here are some pictures of the construction of MCF, as well as its official logo! Enjoy!

The official logo for Mill Creek Falls!

The entrance...

Here is the mill and the top of the falls.

After the main drop and splashdown, the ride seems to jut disappear into the valley walls... (underground, the logs actually catch a conveyor belt that brings them back up the the station)

The grain mill, the falls, the drop, the rock bunker, and the splashdown!

And here is a view of the entire ride!

Indiana Adventures has also made some other improvements around the park, such as new signage and extra landscaping.

See you on May 4th; it's going to be a great season!

^Thanks!

I was kind of disappointed with the Vodhin's Mill Set, because it didn't come with any roofs! Sadly, I discovered this right after I had built the walls to the mill. So then I had to start over and just use the simple western style walls and roofing that just came with the game. Does it look okay?

OPENING DAY, 1996

Hey everybody, well I was glad to see some of you all come out to the park today, but I know other's aren't that fortunate. I would like to start out by saying that I believe Mill Creek Falls was the PERFECT addition to the park! It covered both areas that needed to be filled. Sadly, it is tucked away in the VERY back of the park behind Hideout. Now that is a long walk. Mr. Campbell was present today, and he said that he knows its far back, but the park hasn't even looked into a transportation ride back there. He says that depending on the success of this season, the park will fill out that section so there will be more reasons to venture way back there. Sounds good to me...

Well here I am again, as the crowds pile in the park entrance!

I first checked out the new breakfast buffet at Greenwood Grill. Very good quality for the price!

On the way back to MCF, I discovered this new circus attraction. Mr. Campbell's Big-Top was apparently a spur of the moment show, just so guests could visit something to split up the long walk to the new flume ride.

*Please note: The following are POV pictures of Mill Creek Falls that I took with permission!

Here is the first (smaller) lift on MCF. This takes the flume up to the side of the river, which the logs seem to fall into...

Speeding down the falls into the thick, rock bunker!

On the other side of the park, Memory Memorabilia sure wasn't very busy. Where did all the morning crowds go?

An on-ride photo of Memory Lane. I love that ride...

I see you Black Widow!

I'm spending the summer with family in Hawaii this year, so I won't be around to give you an update. But hey, I hear there is some awesome park over there that I should check out, maybe I'll bring you a trip report? Who knows...

See you this fall!

Fall, 1996

Wow, I haven't seen you all in ages! How was your summer? Well, I visited a park called Hershey's Hawaiian Escape, and let me tell you, that is some park! Amazing I tell you. But nevermind that, onto some pictures of the fall season at Indiana Adventures!

Well I've shown you the River Wheel from the park entrance, but have you seen the park entrance from the River Wheel? Well, you have now!

Looking down the midway towards Little Tyke's Timber Town...

Jitterbug is actually the most popular ride in the park!

LTTT's fountain plaza sure is beautiful in front of the sunset...

Little Logger hides in the darkness.

Cliff Diver (my favorite ride in the park) is VERY photogenic at night!

Goodbye Indiana Adventures, we will miss you!

1997 Rumors:

There is a rumor that IA is planning on adding three new thrill rides next season; now I don't know if this is true, but I have also heard that two of those attractions will be coasters! I can't wait!!!
