(12/10/07) Universal Orlando has been sending out e-mail to select people to preview their new Universal Orlando MobileWeb service, where you can receive ride wait times, park information, and more on your cell phone. To try it out enter one of the following URLs into your cell phone’s web browser:

http://secure.universalstudios.com/MobileWeb/

OR

http://66.77.171.132/MobileWeb

Taken from Screamscape. No idea if it is actually true. Perhaps someone local should try it out?

^ I don't think that site is actually working, cause I just tried it, it's lke10:55 at night, and the wait times say 5 or 10 or 15 min. yea...right. the parks closed at 7. i'll try it again tomorrow. it would be great if it did work!

I assume that they just don't update it after the parks close to reflect the closing.

Disney needs to get a web site like that!

The wait time idea is great. At all the WDW parks, the wait time boards are only close to the front of the park so it's a pain to check them especially if you are at the other end of the park from where the boards are located.

That's great and all, but can the DS tell you funny jokes and kewl fun facts about the park like my Pal Mickey can? And with that great Mickey voice?

I DON'T THINK SO! Love ya Mickey!

Here's me and my Pal Mickey (and my niece) entering the MK.

^ Maybe they can implement a Mickey voice-over in the DS. Anythings' possible!

(That is actually an excellent idea! Along with all the info, have fun facts about the attractions, with Mickey reading them out too you )

Best. Idea. Ever.

I just spent 5 days at WDW, and I can't even begin to contemplate how useful this would have been in using my time optimally. And it could really save wear 'n tear my feet as well.

Thanks for proving I'm not insane.

Wow, this is an awesome idea for DW, only because DW is one monstrosity of a place. I think it would be a waste at smaller parks, ie. if you can get from one end of the part to the other by foot in less than 20 minutes.

I can see it now, swarms of kids just running and screaming to a ride that says "no wait" on the network, as if Hanna Montana is there.

Coolest. Invention. Yet.

Too bad SF doesn't have this.

I was also thinking, if you could bring your own DS, instead of having to buy a cartridge at the park, why not just use DS download-play? It would be a lot easier to not have to keep track of another game pack, plus it would also allow room for improvement and updates.
